Replace turn signal/high beam switch on a 73 911T

Hi,
Anyone have the patience to walk me thru the process of replacing the turn signal/high beam combo switch for my 73T. For instance, does the steering wheel also have to come off, or can I just snap apart the steering wheel clamshell to get to the screws and wires?
Looks pretty straight forward just by looking at the switch and the 8 wires/connectors. But thru years of DIY, I have learned that many things can be deceiving.
Any suggestions or links would be greatly appreciated.

If you are replacing because of the high/low beam not working anymore, suggest you do a search as there are several good threads with pics on repairing your existing stalk rather than replacing it.

Check here for the "fix" vs replacement. Very easy $$$ saver.

No matter what you do, you will need to pull the steering wheel to remove the clamshell. There are several bolts holding downthe clamshell behind the wheel and horn contactor ring.
