It is better to have a Toyota that looks like a Porsche than a Porsche that looks like a Toyota.

With different wheels, that car would certainly fool the average individual. A front engine, water cooled, four passenger auto. Quick send the photo to Dr. Wiedeking!

I agree 100% I always hated the 996 body style, and I'm not too fond of the 997, but at least they fixed the headlights...

But wow what an 'interesting' car...

Here's a lot better imitation of a 996, but still... insane!

This one is based on Opel Calibra. Well there's some far-fetched Porsche connection. Calibras were build by the same contract manufacturer that builds Boxsters and Caymans now. Valmet Automotive in Uusikaupunki Finland.

Parked outside the fence and still not touched. Even thieves have taste.

The 1st replica doesn't look real at all.

The 2nd replica also looks a bit wrong, but it does look a lot more like a 996TT. But it's still not real.

So you're saying it's better to have that car than this.

"Panamera."

That is what I was thinking from the first moment. Come on, if it drove by you'd have thought it was a 996 since most of us wouldn't have looked to begin with They both have radiators in the same area.

I only feel sorry for the owner as Porsche has copyrighted the shape of a 911 and their lawyers are already feeling threatened of sales. Ferry would be disappointed that a Camry and a 911 could be so similar. #1 in profitability combined with #1 in sales!

Think this is nutty, check out this thread about the Covin, a fiberglass replica of the 1980s 911 Turbo:

replica 911 ? Ever seen this ?

That one Wayne posted actually looks like a pretty decent replica. Wonder how much money they have in it. Looks to be done on a 1994-1999 model Celica. This was probably built before you could buy a 996 for mid 20s money.
