Good job! How do you like the chosen suspension? All that matters is that you like it (I'm not asking to knit pick your choice). I hope it is as desired!

Do you do the alignment at home? Cool setup for the lift and alignment gear.

Doug

I know all about it. I've installed lighter aftermarket deck lid and damperenerers on my car and I've got to tell you that you really have to watch the boys when opening up the thing. All it takes is one good whack and you're on the ground drooling and calling for Mommy.

Those are turbo-tail dampenerners boy, you can't put those on there!

Car went out for a test ride this morning (not by me). Bernie was not satisfied, so some dialing in is necessary.

Ros, it is a 3.0.

What was Bernie not satisfied with? Not enough power?

He was not satisfied with the handling. He is going to play with the suspension settings a little bit. He mentioned shock damping and a feeling of bottoming out. He also wants it to track a little better in the corners. I will be driving it home tomorrow night one way or the other.

That's dampenernering. Besides, how could it bottom out with those duece-and-a-half springs under it? He wasn't driving it on rough roads, was he?

The 3.0 dyno'd at 190 hp at the wheels with 914-6 exhaust. I installed SSIs, so it will likely be a little more hp.

My, my...that would be unfortunate...to lauch a kid into the next zip code.

Rough roads in the Fall City area...big surprise there.

914-6 exhaust is basically SSI's without the SS part.

Either way, it's going to rip.

I was told there is a difference. I believe the diameter of the tubing is larger on the SSIs, which is why I went to SSIs from my 2.4 early heat exchangers. You're right though, it doesn't matter, the engine has plenty of power for me either way.

Are you sure about that?

It takes a pretty big idiot to handle a lightened early car with that kind of power.

Now if we were talking about dropping a 3.6 in there...then that'd be different.

I can't wait to see her Scooter! May she get you where you wish to go.

I think 914-6 and early 911 primary pipes are 1.5" diameter, or maybe even smaller. Kind of restrictive on a stock 3.0, much less one like Scooter's. I believe SSI's are 1 5/8" diameter.

Scooter is going to be one fast idiot.

Somebody should make him a bumper sticker that says:

"I may be an idiot, but I'm faster than you!"

...er, Scott...before you think I'm actually calling you an idiot, let's remember which one of us bought that cool car and which one of us sold that cool car...
