Does this tail look right?

Its a ROW 87' coupe

The Carrera script is set to high, no?

Is a Carrera script attached with a push rivet or is it "stuck on"

Can it be moved?

Way too high. Stuck on with an adhesive, so it can be removed. Buy a new one; they're cheap.

script is to high. May have been left in place when the wing was attached. Great looking wing. Should be stuck on. Check the underside to make sure, Remove and leave clean or check the threads on this board for proper placement of the script.

If it is stuck on get onto it with a hair dryer and start to lift it carefully to see if the paint will survive. No script is nice.

Agree with Scott. Looks exactly like that. You can tell by looking underneath if the lid was drilled or came stock with the tail.

A good position is about half-way. No idea what the stock position is, I just eyeballed mine and put it where I though looked best.

Look here for factory sheet on script location--->

1987 carrera emblem location

- Wil

EDIT--- translation: for Turbo, the distance from the bottom of the lid is 10.5 cm....not the 17.5 cm used for Carrera.

2.54 cm / inch.....someone's going to ask !

I have the same tail, here are some pics of where my script is. I do know that a previous owner added the tail so I can't vouch for accuracy vs. the factory location but I think it looks pretty good.

The best fix for this is to leave the script where it is and get rid of the tail. Ruins the lines of the beautiful body.

Like putting a backpack on a beautiful naked woman.

IMO.

It's about 7" from the bottom of the deckid to the Carrera script. Some people put the script lower, but to me it doesn't look right lower. I can post pics of the tail on the car if you want.

Well...the factory measurement of 17.5 cm from the bottom of the decklid equates to 6.88 inches...so 7" sounds about right.
