A trip to the Solo 2 SCCA Nationals in Topeka is a humbling experience. No matter how good you might be at the local level there are people so fast it's just incredible. The top drivers just attack the course. There's no holding back at any time. They attack attack attack.

Well, if I'm able to make the run Paul, I have a few extra ponies to play with...

Was up at Kevin's the other day sorting out a few details from the clutch swap / trans rebuild, and we decided to make a DME fuel switch change on the '84 Cab... ran right down to the dyno & the results (green curve):

link to larger graph: http://www.sinclairmfg.com/fred/911_dyno_-_2008-05-03.jpg

So, now it looks like I've got to get the tach repaired, the thing's going from being off rpms to not working at all sometimes (tap the glass & it's better). Can't seem to find a big issue elsewhere, so might just be gauges. Was pretty unnerving having to go by the tach on the dyno's computer instead of mine, but was like the trumpets of Jericho with open exhaust at WOT.

Anyway all, hope everyone in the group's doing well, hope to see you on the 17th!

Yes, I drive mine as much as possible. If it's >32° & sunny, I've got the top down.

I'm tentative for the Cape run since I am towing to Mid-Ohio and back this weekend and my attendance depends on how things go with that trip.

I'm still looking forward to meeting you guys.

Me also! Just went Saturday to have my rebuild dyno'ed. Would be interesting to compare apples to apples, (using the same dyno). What do they charge per hour? Here's my run chart plus they videotaped it.

John charges $75 for a few straight pulls w/ air/fuel. Not sure if that's the typical for an hour, but then I'm usually 30 minutes drive-in to drive-out, unless I've got lots of things to mess with. Before they changed hands & moved to Douglas, NED charged... $125 / hr I think, for whatever you wanted to, basically. I think it was still < $100 when I did the multiple exhaust configurations pulls a couple of years ago (Bursch, Fabspeed dump tip, stock, cat & cat bypass).

I did ask him about putting together a 2WD 911 Dyno Day at some point this spring / summer, and he's all for it, they roll out the BBQ Grill & spend the day BS'ing with everyone. Discounted pulls, of course.

Sounds very cool. Maybe we can talk about doing one on the 17th. Looking forward to meeting you.

Rain or Shine, thats' our motto. Despite the morning showers,we had a great turnout of cars, great roads, views, lunch and finally sunshine. Thanks to Peter Smith for leading the way and thanks to all who came regardless of weather. a few pics from the day.

This guy got up to early (Tim)

I'd like to thank everybody for a great day yesterday, it was a lot of fun. But when we left the restaurant I had to stop at a crosswalk for pedestrians and didn't notice which road everyone took! I tried to catch up but it was too late and I ended up losing you guys

All in all, it was a lot of fun
