SEMBC Sun. Run
Great turnout guys! We had 17 cars total, wonderful weather, it was fun seeing some of the old gang, and I enjoyed meeting those of you coming for the first time. Thanks Bob, for posting those great pictures of the day. John posted a great album on the Rennlist region forum.
Here are a few more. regards, Paul ![]()

Aside from the first-hand experience of the roller coaster ride through the park, my favorite 2 parts were seeing the Ferrari behind me down that straightaway in the park where it was a series of rapid elevation changes - I had "Ferris Bueller's Parking Attendants" flash through my head, and coming down the hill near the back of the pack approaching the causeway & seeing all the 911's going across to the right... just inspiring!
As always, thanks for organizing Paul!

Thanks Paul - another great day, another great drive. I got a kick out of the two female joggers (in different spots) who stopped, heads swiveling as we passed, with big smiles, waving at everybody.
That road through the park was really fun. I had Ira's Ferrari behind me and every time I checked my mirrors on the downhills it looked like an alien spacecraft about to land. ![]() And on another note; I had a problem using the tickets at the restaurant, so I gave them your name and address .... expect a bill.

Jim,
AKA "Z Ticketmeister", I am glad you have checked in this evening as I was concerned about your whereabouts. I know that you have not been able to use all of the 3,000 free drink tickets that you are the proud owner of. It is my deepest concern that you are not hounded at future events by fellow rgruppe, S registry and Pelicans - as we know what generous fellow you are. Free brew for everyone!!!!!! See you soon! We all know that the joggers were waving at you, not the rest of us! regards, Paul

Ticketmeister
Here is how this "free drink ticket" situation works. Your responsibility at SEMBC events is to hand out one ticket to each participant, then you are to run up to the bartender and give your credit card or three hundred in cash. We the participants then go to the bar and redeem our drink. Run organizers then get the praise and credit for a great event!
Thank you for your help in this matter! This is a PM right? Paul

Fred,
You are right, this might require a congressional investigation. We must follow the trail. Who has had the roll of tickets since Sunday? Lets' see, Oh, that would be Jim, sounds like an inside job to me. Remember, he was the instigator that almost got all of us speeding "TICKETS" on the Cape Run. Key word being ticket! Paul

great pics Jim! And to think, the real rock that the 1st settelers stepped onto was NOT even in Plymouth. The 1st place of landfall for the 1st settlers was Provincetown... 20 miles accross the bay OR a 60 mile drive to the end of cape cod. Dont ask me why this is the Plymouth Rock... all I can offer is that the original settlers found zero fresh water in p-town, so they headed across the bay to Plymouth. THEN, they actually landed, the 2nd stop, on Clarks Island. They found a tiny spring there which was not adequate. The island you can see in the pics that look twds the ocean, on the left side is it.
Anyway, THEN, the 1st setlers got brave and ventured to land where Plymouth harbor is (this area) and did step on this rock (a rock about 10' square) that is down in that pit of a cave under the pillar structure there. The settlers were not too anxious to make land fall due to indian reports and sightings of them from the boats anchored out in the harbor as they eye glassed twds shore. Another tid bit. This is not the place where the rock originally was. It was about 1000 yds from here. And when they moved it here as a tourist stop (trap) they broke it and it now has a 3" wide cement seam down the middle of it... some just cant leave well enough alone. Now, if they had one of our Porsche cars back then, it could of moved the rock with out any problems, right?! Bob
