LOL!

I just wasn't planning on my company's acquisition of several power plants affecting my workload as it has. Then, my wife drags me to Hawaii... man, the nerve of that woman!

As a side, if you have contacted me recently (meaning after the initial order and have not heard back from me as far as billing, please give me til Friday to get to you. If you do not hear by then, please shoot me another email.

Thanks all!

If we're truly going to dominate the world, might I suggest we organize a cannonbal run. We can start with the U.S. and then Rio De Janeiro during carnaval. After that, we can take Costa Rica, (I hear they have a Hooters there). You guys feel free to suggest other places as well.

Sorry, don't mean to hijack.

Most of you were emailed, but just in case... the first 60 badges went out Monday. No numbers engraved on the back I am afraid due to a superhero emergency in which some cord was desperately needed... immediately. As I told everyone else by email, I am quite suprised my 6 year old didn't just whack the cord right off of my former engraver, instead, ithe whole thing wound up half buried in mud in the garden, I mean the villian's lair...

I think I have got all of the latecomers squared away now and it looks like I will have about 5 badges left. So if any new SC owners read this thread one day astonished that they had never before heard of the SCWDP, you have 5 chances at a badge.

OK, technically, I can get more made.

I am hopeful we will have the rest of the badges here this week.

I just got word that the last 40 should be here sometime next week. I was dissappointed, but I guess it is what it is. Sorry to those that are still awaiting their badge.

On another note, I have received a couple of quotes for the T-shirts and Polos. They are still working on the decals, mugs, etc... I still hope to have ordering info ready for this other stuff sometime this weekend. I have a feeling tomorrow will be a very long day at work like today was, so giving some cushion there.

Anyone interested in the other stuff, please email me to be added to the email distribution list, unless you have already done so in the past. However, if you do not hear from me by the end of the weekend, you might want to email me again to make sure I have you on the list. I would like to start weaning the SCWDP off list, or at least move it over to the classified area.

Thanks all!

Update

Hello all,

I need some feedback real quick if possible. I have a couple of options for the decals. They are both based on the badge design. The first would be a regular style exterior decal for the window. The new option that I think is much better, but more money, is a metallic style sticker. They are exterior type, and the company has sent the artwork and says they will look like the design when they are done (good quality). I have 2 options within this route…. One being to print it just as it is on the badge, with a black center background. Option 2 is to have it printed with a clear background within the ring, and the SCWDP text in the middle. I think this will look very good, but I need to make a decision about these. The cost is higher, and will be about $10/badge. I hate to order two types, as there is a 50 badge minimum… TO CALRIFY, the metallic decal would be a 3" metallic window sticker that will look very similar to the badge.

The regular type badges will be about $5.

So far cost of shirts should be about $15-20 for tees, and $30 for embroidered polos. I am trying to get some pictures together so we can get an order form up on the website. I cannot figure out a easier way for trying to determine shpping and do not have the time to do it for each order, so the cost I have above is compensated for the shipping and packaging. I need to know if this sounds fair to most.

Please share your thoughts.

Greetings Plotters…

I wanted to send out a quick update for everyone.

1. BADGE STATUS

To those who have ordered badges at this point. First of all, thank you for your patience. This adventure has been a lesson in patience for me as well, I assure you. As I mentioned last time, the manufacturer made a mistake on our order and did not send me the full 40 badges, but 25 instead (in the second shipment). They are rushing the missing 15 badges through this week (meaning putting us ahead of all other work) an should be done this week, which means, I probably will not receive the last 15 badges until next week sometime. The 25 badges I received last week have been sent out to the next persons in line, and you should start receiving them – hopefully some of you already have. I will try to make time later today to send out another email just to those who ordered badges and give you a detailed breakdown of who has been sent a badge, who is next in line, and then asking for clarification on any that may have possibly got overlooked in the ordering process somehow. All 100 badges have been spoken for at this point, but I am having 10 more made, so hopefully next week, I will have those as well…

2. TEE’s and DECALS

I know everyone has awaited these patiently as well, but it has truly been another lesson in patience on my end with various problems over the last few months. I am comfortable with the vendors I have been working with the last 3 weeks and thinks we are just about there FINALLY! Due to time constraints on my end, I had to make the decision to scale back and keep things somewhat simple for now. That means, basically one design for the Tee and decal. I am attaching an image of what the basic layout will be, but it will obviously look much better when actually printed. Also on the attached image of the window decal, the white background in the center is only to represent a clear background. I would like your opinions on the decal, meaning, would you prefer the clear background or keep the solid printed black background? I may have both done, but would be interested in what the group prefers. When you look at these, keep in mind that the text in t he center (SCWDP) is being worked on still so that it does not actually touch the sides on the ring. Tee’s will be 6.1 oz 100% cotton. You can basically have whatever color they have available, but I am trying to decide whether to limit it to a few choices for now, honestly, to only make it easier for me to keep sorted out. XXL and larger will be available for an extra charge. I hate to say it again, but truly, I think we will be ready to start the ordering process on these in the next few days sometime.

We should also have the polo’s available for order about the same time as well.

Thanks again,

Shane Van Wey

Paul,

Probably will still be $15 for tees (up to XL - larger will be slightly more) and $3-4 for decals. I am still awaiting the final pricing from the printer, after they add up the art conversion or something like that. The prices will include shipping as well, but may be slight upcharge to international like on the badges, for the shirts...

Not positive on the polos yet, as I changed it to a more simple design so it would look better overall. They are getting mee a quote today.

I will probably also have hats available too, and they too will probably have the basic SCWDP text on them like the polos. It came down to the text on the outer ring not looking right when embroidered.

Update on badges... the remaining badges finally made it to me today. Sorry for the hold up on these last few. I have extra as well. I am going to go through each one and make sure the rod will securely thread into place on the badge before I send these out.

Thanks all...

Paul, either tap them, or send them back to me and will send you new ones. Sorry for the hassle... the manufacturer bunked it up on some of them...

I have one badge left that I need to retap and cut new all thread for. However, I have had a few people emailing asking about badges... And, it seems we are adding a few SC owners on board lately. I am considering ordering more more badges. It would take another 3-5 weeks to get them in once ordered. I would have to order at least 25. I wanted to see if there was enough interest to warrant... same deal as before, $38 each shipped, $43 anywhere outside US/Canada. Or $68 for 2, add $5 for international again. Please email me if you are interested and include "SCWDP BADGE" as subject. Email me at shane@scwdp.com.

On another note, believe it or not, work is still progressing on website and on the decals, shirts, caps, etc. The printers are finally doing the production proofs for me. I have not put out any ordering info yet as I am trying to get actual photos for the ordering page on the website... hopefully sometime this next week I will have something ready on this. I hope everyone likes stickers, I had to preorder those to get them done at 125 each of exterior adhesive type and 125 of the interior static cling type.

The plot rolls on...
