Looks very nice could you detail how you attached the screens inside your quarters and fenders please.

Wachuko - I am finishing up my build of a '73 RSR backdated from an '85 and noticed the between the seats seat belt attachments on your recent photo. The two seat belt attachments in the rubber enclosure. What year did those come from?

rennch 11-24-2012 01:56 PM

Looking amazing! I have to say though...I much prefer the chrome headlight rings to the black. The Chrome is a little more subtle, and feels like it blends better aesthetically. Just my .02.:)

I am with you... I think I will leave the black rings off... The beauty of having options ;)

Don't remember, what wheels are on it?

Got those from Jeff Alton at PACIFIC WESTERN PERFORMANCE INC.

What carpet set is that? How do you like it?

Carpet set... I like it. But really do not remember what vendor I got it from  I bought three set, all from different vendors... one for the RSR, one for my 964, and the one that came with the RS project...

Let me try and see if I can find the invoice.

One option for license plate lights is to go to a motorcycle shop (in person or on line) and buy license plate bolts that have LEDs in them.

Beautiful car btw!

ted 12-02-2012 10:02 AM

TRE sells 74 RSR plate lights.

wachuko 12-02-2012 04:12 PM

I have a new set of those...just undecided as to using them on the RSR, I was saving them for the RS :)

Installed a piece of carpet I missed from the kit... goes under the back windshield...

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...Install-14.jpg

Here:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...Install-15.jpg

Pedal set also installed:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...dInstall-3.jpg

Also took the time to drill the hole for the hazards switch:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...dInstall-2.jpg

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...dInstall-1.jpg

And passenger seat installed... need to now install the same seat on the driver's side. But first I have to get a set of rails...

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...tInstall-1.jpg

I gave it a good clean on the inside... cleaned all glass, dash, door panels, etc.

Angel stopped by and we took it out for a drive... forgot to bring the tires back to normal pressure (I had them at around 50lbs to minimize flat spots... )

Next task is fixing the headlights mount tab...and the aluminum plate around the hood pins... got all the materials, just need work on that next. Baby steps...getting there.

wachuko 12-05-2012 04:00 PM

Some work on the front lip spoiler... Alejandro creating a lip on the lip :D It was just a flat piece of fiber glass and we wanted to give it some thickness...

wachuko 12-10-2012 04:00 AM

Took out the seats, painted the seat support black. Now both seats match (had a Recaro seat on the driver side, but decided to just installed the two seats that came with the RS project and store the Recaro seat... )

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...Intalled-2.jpg

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...Intalled-1.jpg

Also installed the hood pins... I made some aluminum plates to install at each corner of the hood, but at the end decided not to install those, did not seem to look all that good with those.

Small detail but finally got a tag frame and some lights for the tag:

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...0RSR/Tag-1.jpg

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...0RSR/Tag-2.jpg

Need to install the lights... motorcycle tag lights

wachuko 12-14-2012 07:55 AM

I had a spare brake caliper decal... makes the 5.00 license plate look a lot better :)

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps2e05c755.jpg

Also made some exhaust tip covers and painted those black, to avoid getting the bumper dirty... Need to adjust them, just some quick photos

Baby steps... baby steps side mirrors...

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps05890045.jpg

Baby steps... baby steps front slip spoiler...

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps8b51cc57.jpg

I will pick them up Saturday and do the install sometime next year, lol...

wachuko 12-28-2012 12:30 PM

Got some small parts that I misplaced (and will sure find after I do the install) for the sunroof air deflector... now I need to find out how the heck these are installed...

LED license plate light

Thanks for the tip. I just finished an RSR backdate project was stumped on how to create license plate lights without drilling holes where I didn't want them. I saw your thread, ordered the lights and just finished installing them. They work great and no additional holes!

wachuko 02-08-2013 11:51 AM

If all goes well, by the end of next week, the car should be done...

They are fixing the small paint details we found, installing the front lip, side mirrors, finishing fitting of the headlights, fuel filler setup, front fender side mesh, and install of side scripts.

Like to see your car and Jeremy's running side by side at Sebring. Any chance of that?

At some DE, sure!! But our car is not setup for hardcore racing... Jeremy would be running circles around us, lol.

Once the body is done then we have to drop the engine and tranny to clean it up, paint the engine bay, fix the crushed oil lines (using the pressured air method), change oil seals, injector boots, go over the brakes...

But I want to take it to the track for DEs... SmileWavy

Some photos from the fuel filler build...

I am very interested in this. Can you provide some info on how this is done? I've got a few good indentations in mine and was thinking of just replacing them.

Now with water drain and sealer...

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps37e7cdf4.jpg

Side mirrors are also finished...but I will install those since I left the bolts at home, duh!

gsmith660 02-13-2013 04:37 PM

I like that any specs on how you did it

wachuko 02-16-2013 10:42 AM

Fuel filler done!

http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps1ac6ca44.jpg

Still need to replace the rubber hose with a flexible one as the 90 degree one that I got was not a perfect fit...

To make the drain/water catcher it is just using a cheap bowl as the mold. Fiber glass over a bowl. Once dry, remove the bowl and you get a nice FB piece. Wish we would have left it in raw fiber glass... But it got painted the same color as the tank.

Then we cut the stock filler pipe just to use the section where the cap screws on. Some epoxy to glue it to the fb bowl, some seam sealer. Weld two bracket to hold it at the brake base, one 90 degree bent rubber hose and voila!

gsmith660 02-17-2013 03:13 PM

Where did you pick up the cover you mounted on the hood

Correct. Ours came from a Mustang, so we had to grind the logo on the inside of the lid...:D

gsmith660 02-18-2013 05:11 PM

One last question did you flange your hood
