Thanks, Mike.
The J is for tubeless tires. It is a slight groove at the base of the lip where the tire bead rests. A cross section of the rim lip would show a "J" before the rest of the inner rim face. (I can see that's a tough thing to describe )

RUF is the car manufacturing and modification company owned by Alois Ruf of Germany with a dealership in TX, USA.

I think they must re-print these periodically; I just bought (new) the 76-77 and 78-81 booklets a year or so ago.

Porsche KG - the former version of the present company; the KG refers to its being held by family members and not having public stock

Porsche AG - a hedge fund that also makes sports cars, SUVs, and 4 passenger cars

J, JJ, K, JK, B, P and D are Tyre bead profiles / rim contour designations. Common wisdom has it that the letter represents the shape. ie. "J" means the bead profile is the shape of the letter "J". Not so, although "J" is the most common profile identifier. There are 64 highly technical pages defining the shape and dimensions of each profile(not light reading)

H, H2, FH, CH, EH and EH2 are Hump profiles.

If you ar ereally interested ETRTO is the governing body that can provide the details

Great thread. Here's d few that I haven't seen that took a while to figure out.

ITB - individual throttle bodies - always part of EFI as carbs for Porsches have ITB by default
P&Cs - pistons and cylinders
AFR - Air-Fuel Ratio

3.2SS - 3.2L short stroke - a common 3.0 (SC) upgrade by replacing 95mm P&Cs with 98mm P&Cs. This is different from a stock 3.2 (Carrera) which used a different crank & rods.
-- a 2.4SS is a similar thing done with a 2.2 engine
