Well, I did have the free choice option and painted mine minerva blue (code 304), so in this case at least, the answer is not hypothetical.
regards,
Phil

I'm not sure whose car this is, but it's one of the only Mexico Blue Targas I've ever seen. At least I'm pretty sure this is Mexico Blue - I use these two pictures as the "go by" for restoring my own car (there are a couple of minor differences between this car and mine which I need to iron out).

Thanks for all the responses,

The paint on my car is totally shot, and I hate the color anyway, so it's definitely going to change.

- I really like the mexico blue cars, although I think on a coupe it looks best

My car does have an all black interior, which is somewhat of a consideration as on a dark blue car it would be really dark, where as on red it would be very nice.

when this car is done it will be close to stock, with a carerra tail and a front lip spoiler, and lowered to euro height.

I just finished completely restoring the interior, replacing all brakes, installing H-4's and stripping the body to prep for paint...I'll keep everyone in the loop as the work progresses.

I also like the greens, the pic below is my 73 914, Zambezi Green

I would not change. OK maybe silver that last 930 is pretty sharp!

The dark colors will make your car look smaller and show dirt/dust quickly.
The color white will make your car look larger and you will get alot of miles out of a wash job.
I like white.
White is also the most popular color for new cars in '07. (it un-seated silver after it was at the top for a long time.)
Red will make your car look like it wants to be pulled over by a cop.
My 911 is Irish Green. It looks friendly. (and dirty).

Funny, I read the title and instantly thought Chocolate Brown. Then I read the post and you want to change from brown. To each their own. I agree, i don't like most metallic browns, but Non metallic Milk Choc Brown is killer.

I am a huge fan of Non-metallic Greys lately. "primer" grey, light grey, nimbus (tt) grey.

this is also coming from a guy with a signal yellow car with Orange/brown stripes. HA

I like white.
I dunno....I see the dirt on my white car pretty good. It does seems to hide dust pretty well though. To really see it, you have to drag a finger lightly along the paint to pile it up.
Road dirt though...shows up pretty well.

I was in the same situation with my brown car and I searched everywhere for a unique color - which is had to to as the old paint color books are almost gone. However, I found a color called coral red (por 82H) and had it shot with Glasurit paint. I will soon send a picture - but check it out. Have the paint supplier mix a quart and spray a sample for you.
By the way, I took doors and lids off and removed the engine to make it look right. Go with German paint as the metallic filler is different that the other paints.

Go to Mexico, paint it with Dupont Imron. Always looks like it was just waxed (wet), forever.
