o2 sensor question

Hi guys. I just bought a test pipe and the o2 plug is capped off. My 83 3.0 motor has an o2 sensor and was wondering if it will make a big difference if I run without one. Will this effect the way my engine runs (good or bad)? Sorry if it's a dumb question. Thanks.

The engine will just go into open loop mode, mpg will probably go down a bit, some say there is better throttle response but not that IO could detect.

Persinally I would leave a functiong O sensor in the loop

You may have starting and hunting issues as well and if in Cali you will not pass smog.
