Question Optimal SC Targa shocks/struts

To all my Targa loving folks, I have a '78 Targa....still has original shocks/struts.
In process of some upgrades including Turbo Tie Rods and overall weight loss to the car. Want better handling. My car currently has the Targa braces installed (aluminum piece that bolts diagonal floor to just under the hoop for extra rigidity). My mechanic is suggesting Bilstein Gas Sports shocks/struts (stiffer than Bilstein HD but less than so than the Racer version). Car is not for tracking but do want handling. What do people have on their Targas and what's opinion?

thanks
dave

Thumbs up

Dave,

I have the Bilsten Sports and I think they provide great handling for the street setup you are looking for.

I have the targa body brace, brey/krause rollbar in the rear, (front shock tower brace installed) and billstein sport, handles like a coupe of the same age. Perhaps a bit better.
