Why when you misplace something is it always found the last place you look? Because you stop looking after you've found it

That was my point....I backdated my Carrera 3.2 to a 74 Carrera(sorta).....NOT to an SC

If it happens, you must give Bob and I one for facilitating the miracle

Yes, but of course my point was that no one was backdating 964's or 993's to late model Carrera's either

Yes the 3.2, 964, and 993 do have a bit of a reputation for needing valve guides sooner than the SC.

But, what do you expect. With more HP there is more heat and the exhaust valves take most the load.

Hi SC plotters.

Looks like you all are running scared... We over at 32carrera expected that.

Sad is when an SC owner changes the badge to Carrera, and we 3.2 owners see that every now and then. Some of you even add a third brake light. For looks, not really. To copy a newer Carrera.... Oh yeah...

Although I originally wanted an 83 Cabrio, I fell in love with a great 89...

It truly must have been devistating for "SC" owners when Porsche decided to launch the final, definitive, most powerful and refined generation of the 911 and name it Carrera. I pitty the poor fella that shelled out a boatload of dough for his SC in 1983 and realized only a few short months later that he had to drive around with the SC or "Sub-Carrera" designation.

It is no wonder you guys have such an inferiority complex. SC's really are almost "as good as" Carreras. I personally love SC's. You simply got shafted by a badge... a little more horsepower, better brakes, chain tensioners that won't fail, a better fuel delivery system, better gas milage, more torque, more speed, better reliability and a more rubust and reliable transmission on the G50's.

It is all good though brothers!

Funny that the carrera 'superiority' doesn't add up where it matters...on the racetrack. Take a look at PCA stock 'E' class, where SCs are pitted directly against the carreras. I think you'd be surprised at typical race results. When I started building a car for E class, I was advised to steer clear of the carreras if I wanted to be competitive.

Oh, sure. Rely on FACTS! We Carrera owners are not bothered by facts! We go with our gut! We're about moxie and instinct and displaying the courage of lions! Fie on your facts, SC-driver! We will smite you!

Most PCA racers I believe end up carrying ballast.

It would not have anything with the extra 100 to 200 lbs the Carrera is required to carry. I think that is llike making you your girl-friend along for a ride with every race.
