There are those who say that a 3.6 conversion is financially not much different from a good 2.7 build. Certainly there are pros and cons. Authenticity and weight are considerations but so are power and efficiency.
This must be covered somewhere but I'm not finding it when I search. Maybe not the right search terms. |

Clone...... 3.6
Highly original RSR clone..... 2.8 + lots of $$$$$$s. This car was recently built by Kevin Jeanette of Gunnar Racing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() About as close as you can get to an actual RSR......

Look at it from the other side. if you were looking to buy one, would you rather have the one with a 2.7 or the one with a 3.6?? me?? 3.6, no contest..

I thought so but thanks for the confirmation. I would get the wide set also as it's for a road car..

Back to the last pertinent question; what do you want to do with the car? If I had my last 2.7 build to do over again, it would absolutely be a 3.6. They have great power, still use pump gas (if you build a hot rod 2.7, raise the compression ratio, it requires higher octane), and, the 2.7 is noted for leaking, errr, marking it's territory.

3.6 is a very user friendly package. You can still do it vintage looking with ITBs, carbs, too.
