Have you used it yet? Does it make adjusting the valves easier?

I'd guess the angle represents about a 45 degree arc. If you know pitch of the adjustment screw then you can calculate how much looser or tighter the valve will be. What is the angle supposed to be and thus represent?

How will you know where your "zero gap" point is? It's very possible to tighten it until you're actually compressing the valve springs.

well yes you could, just lightly tighten till it makes contact then note the position of the first arm then turn it to align it to the 2nd arm. that should equal .004mm hold it there and tighten the stop nut, your done!

the angle is 39 degrees

As long as your swivel feel are in very good condition......any wear on them and your adjustments will be off.

Just saying......

this thing is outstanding .. and wear issues affect both calipers and this tool . Although any indirect measurement will increas error rate . i would say the benefits of this tool outweigh any risks by about ten fold. You are MUCH more likely to make errors with feeler drag than with this tool, especially if you do not have a lot of experience with feeler guages.

Outstanding ....

Hey,
Nice screwdriver, I am kinda concerned about those metal holderupper things sticking out of the handle though, not gonna use it in a live junction box, too much chance of sparks. Now who's that P-51 belong to? I would like to offer to "exercise" it for you at a low introductory price though. I am checked out in lots of things from Cubs to being authorized to cross country flight in the X15
Scott Crossfield hooked a brother up. Notice I am just adequate, after all the engines are lit, I get a little squirrely.

Pretty sure those screws are 1.0mm threads so I'll guess 360/10 = 36 degrees to get a .1mm gap.

You're mixing metric and English measurements. .004 mm is a very tiny gap.
.1 mm = .004 inch
