76 912E brake conversion questions

I have a 76 912e and want to install 87 944 turbo brakes. Has anyone done this, is this possible, and what do I need to complete this? Thanks

Just wanted to install larger two piston calipers.

All early 911 and 912 brakes are two-piston. You probably have M calipers and 20mm thick vented rotors, which are the same as for a 911. You are fine unless you have a much bigger engine in there. Try cooling first. Brakes take kinetic energy and turn it into heat. If you can get that heat out of the brakes at a fast enough rate, you can increase the amount of heat you are putting into them without boiling fluid.

If my memory serves, my 912e had non-vented rotors on it. Though some 911sc or Carrera 3.2 calipers and vented rotors would be a perfectly acceptable upgrade.

Look in the classifieds for a 911SC front suspension (or Carrera). People who do big race suspension upgrades sometimes sell their old parts as a unit. You can just bolt on the whole new suspension with the better brakes.
