I thought my work was "pretty good", now after realizing that this is an example of "not the greatest" i am re-evaluating my skill level ........... and may need to start inquiring about taking some classes or finding a shop.

Nice work
(but relist you skills as good or better, and make the rest of use feel OK)

There was a car hanging around San Jose in the early 70's - just like that - personalized license plate was BLU MAX. Love to find that one!

It has been a loooonnng time since I last updated, but the car itself is almost complete. Only thing lacking is the seats which are being redone now and the gauges which are Pallo Alto for restoration.

Now onto this

Stock 2.2T. The Zeniths are gummed up badly and will have a better assesment of the internal situation of the rest of the engine in the next few days when the cam tools arrive.

The somewhat flexible budget is around 6k so I am looking for opinions on modifications and improvements that I could make for HP gains. Pistons?Carbs? Cams? Pistons, follow Waynes sugested crank swap. What have you guys done and what are the results?

cleal,

If you want to have more power, get another engine (2.4, 2.7) and build yourself a 2.7RS-like engine with your Zeniths (new jets, venture) and black fan shroud. Stealth.

Save your 2.2T in absolutely original, unmolested condition.
Preserve it properly.
Accumulate the new (& NOS) parts for a concourse, original rebuild someday.

If you want a short-geared, LSD transmission, start with another 911/01 and save your numbers matching transmission.

Nice work.
Be sure to add internal rust prevention.
Much damage is from the inside out.
Check inside the rear torsion bar tube.

Best,
Grady

Very nice!!
What a transformation!

(Grady, what do you recommend for internal rust prevention)?
