I did think about mounting the projector off to the side but the clearance in the fender prevents this I was thinking about what Randy said about the crosseyed and I counterd with evil but the size of these projectors require it to be in the center the up side is these should have a superior pattern compared to the smaller projector.

I don't think the size of the projector would necessarily give it a different pattern. Regardless, I am paying attention to this thread...

No its not the pattern they where talking about if I understand them correctly a larger projector gives a crisper pattern and tighter cutoff lines a 3 inch projector is even better but I don't think it would fit this one is just about too big.

I am waiting on parts right now and I got an early Christmas present this year that I could do without. I got diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and went straight to injecting insulin this has been a wonderful experience becoming a pin cushion making lemonade out of lemons my cholesterol was low.

Damn, sorry to hear about that. Kinda crappy Christmas news...

As I understand it, looking after your circulation is pretty important. The insulin injections aren't so bad. After a while, that is. A few years ago I was diagnosed with MS. The only treatment is in the form of injectable meds, as well. I've no obvious symptoms, so that helps, I guess. I tell people that if I didn't know I had it, I wouldn't know I had it, if that makes sense. It's kind of an oversimplification, but you get the idea.

Make use of the support groups in your area. Talking with others with the same condition is invaluable. Good luck.

I got the driving lights and got them mounted in the assembly, now I need to get the time to mount the projectors to the mounting plate. I am having trouble finding time to do this as I am in the process of moving to a new house (with a bigger shop) and figureing out how to deal with being diagnosed with diabetes and getting my blood sugar under control but I will figure it out. Now a pic.

Ok I have these things mounted tenatively and will disassemble and paint then reassemble and fix every thing with silicon. Tell me what you think of the 2 of them. Sorry they are blurry lighting is bad.

Now that you see the finished layout ideas on the color I should paint the inside we had some discussion that ranged from chrome to black what do you think now match the shroud or contrasting color ie the smoke chrome?

With your setup will you be able to adjust the driving lights separately from the HID? Can you show a picture from the back of the assembly? So far your project looks awesome!

Still need to drill a hole for the driving lights wiring that will tap into the factory high beam wiring.

I'd go with a silver (not chrome) paint on the inside of the VW bucket and black on the mounting plate you made.

Looking awesome. It might look very nice if you polished the aluminum backing on the side that faces the front. I agree chrome wouldn't be quite right. Once polished maybe coat it with clear to keep it that way.

Polished is out of the question but I could sand it to give it a satin finish. the silver and black scheme has possibilities I just like the smoke chrome or how about a grey hammered finish?
