Woo nice seats!

JEM911 10-06-2011 01:42 PM

Those are the K16's which are only sitting there to enable us to mock up the exhaust.

The larger turbo's will be going on when we do the final construction...

Thanks everyone for the positive comments on the build... If you have any great ideas to throw into my idea's list please let me know...

Paint has been a pain in the ass. For some reason the slate grey code seems to be different from a few different paint companies. There's a bit of difference, but I'm close to getting it right.

At the end of the day I don't really think it's going to matter, as the car isn't original in any event, but I do want to get it as close to right as possible.

The set back with color has put this all back a bit. Hopefully we will be on track this week.

Nice build. Jim's shop does great work. Do you plan on coming here to see the finished product prior to shipping it home? If you time a visit properly, you could take it out on the track here in Phoenix. Jim has had customer builds out there for testing and evaluation. Fun to see, for sure.

I'm hoping to get over there. It will all largely depend on how much free time I get. I'm moving country in Jan / Feb which is smack bang in the middle of when I'm meant to take delivery!

The only upside is I'm going to be in a better timezone to talk with the US.

I take it then that you won't be in Sydney with the car :(

Pity - would love to have seen it down here.

Looks like Pole Positions. If so, tried them out a while ago. Even the wife liked the feel of them. On my to-do list of upgrades.

I'm pretty sure at this stage it will be a Sydney car...

Don't worry Tim - you should get a chance to see it running around Sydney.

Jeff is right, they are Pole Positions. I'm hoping I don't put on too many Kg's between now and delivery though...

Looking great:)
Is that a 993 twin turbo throttle body? Using the intercooler as well?

Yes, though the intercooler was made specifically for the car, its a bit bigger than the stock 993.

Paint - Update

So I have some updated pictures of the build process...

starting from the top down, you can see the car in final preparation prior to getting painted, and in the last two photo's you can see the final color.

I understand that the car is getting the inside painted today. After that's done they can finalise the rear of the car (QTR's, roof etc)...

I'm hoping to be able to share a painted body picture this week...
