what is this part
I am trying to figure out what part this is, I am looking at the rubber part next to the oil filler neck, it seems to be cracked but I cant figure out what part number it might be or if it is just a piece of rubber connector. Since it looks like it is about to fall apart I don't want to take it apart until I have the replacement.

I guess that's what it is, I found the diagram looks like there is a rubber sleeve and a valve both NLA, is it an air check valve of some sort?

Yes, a check valve to keep your idle up when you take off the oil cap to check oil level.

David,
I'm not at home to reference the part name or number, but I recently replaced that same part. You should be able to contact your nearest Porsche dealer and provide the part number. It is a special order part that will set you back about $15-$20 dollars. I ordered mine through a Porsche dealer in Phoenix. Hope this helps.
