Porsche Crest New Design PF Evaporator, High Speed Blower and modified housing with 4 INCH Opening

New Design PF Evaporator, High Speed Blower & Motor and modified housing with 4 INCH ID cabin air inlet into the smugglers box & evaporator cover and much higher cabin air vent flow

THIS new design also encompasses a Variable Orifice Tube Valve instead of a thermal expansion valve and which is much colder even at idle than a normal orifice valve

These components designs are part of "THE TAN SWAN's" nearly completed new technologies 911 A/C 30 DEGREES SYSTEM which will be published soon

How much does this weigh and what parts does it replace? I am considering removing my AC because I don' use it. I would be interested in a light weight version that works. I also would interested in heater blower that defrosts and removes condensation. Will your new blower perform better than the stock version?

Kelogges:
Your stuff looks interesting as one-off components, but I remember you implying that you were making these to provide for members of the forum. Any truth to that concept?
Thanks,
Dave

Thanks,

OMG - Did I really just spend an hour reading this drivel bull***** only to find out that there is nothing new to be gleaned from all of this. I will never recover that lost hour of my life, and I could have watched the 40 Years of SNL which I recorded. At least that would have been somewhat entertaining and equally as informative .......

Porsche Crest The Tan Swan A/C Project

The 911 had been the Owners Father's
Who took it to his home after he bought it; to the US Pacific North West and it remained for many years until his death.

The Tan Swan was purchased used; by the father from the original 911 owner many years ago. It originally had an A/C system installed, but it no longer worked ever again. There is not much need for A/C in the Pacific Northwest so I guess it was never used, or repaired to be functional because of the expense.

However the Father drove it regularly over the years

(The father had 2 young sons that were babies who grew up with the Tan Swan and the oldest is now the main Owner of the Tan Swan and in his 40s and shares ownership with his younger brother)

The father greatly enjoyed this car during his lifetime I was told by the owner! It originally had a 2.7 engine that gave good service for many years. But a year or so before father died he upgraded the engine to a newly rebuilt and modified 3.6 Liter and transaxle combo update.

The Owner (The oldest Son) lives here in South Florida and shipped the car here after his fathers death.

The Owner had heard about me and my new technology 911 A/C system designs and the success I have had with several 911's and making them super cold and decided he wanted my Revolutionary A/C System Complete Modernization of Everything.

At first I did not know it used to have an A/C system installed or ever had one, but I later discovered it did. Everything related to the original A/C system had been removed. Except for only 2 very short refrigerant pieces of hose that were cut off that were internally hidden in the body that you could not see easy.

The smugglers box had been completely jury-rigged and I guess the father or someone cut into where the evaporator used to be and put in a 12 volt D/C really small kind of a bizarre heater; including through the firewall. One of the oddest installations I have ever seen to say the least. Later properly repairing this installation damage would make this the most difficult project I have ever worked on.

These pictures are how it was delivered and I first saw it. ouch OMG!

I love the expanding foam in the smuggler's box. Good luck.

Porsche Crest Completely Modernized NEW Technology A/C System Announcement Early Model 911 INSTALL

Repairing the cabin damage and modifying the body to allow for the increased diameter size over stock of the 911 air intake AND ENLARGING THE OUTPUT AIR VENT and input ducts to accommodate the greatly increased CFM

Repairs to the smugglers box from the abortion hack job; and greatly increased the diameter of the evaporator intake and the body sheet-metal hole to accommodate the greatly enhanced air flow volume for the new larger evaporator blower that greatly increases CFM (cubic feet per minute) of enhanced air flow by several times the Behr oem blower and let the A/C system breath A MUCH HIGHER AIRFLOW

The airflow in and out holes were enlarged to accommodate the new high CFM blower fan allowing this system TO HAVE SOME REAL BALLS!

THE INCREASED AIRFLOW IN AND OUT OF THE CABIN AND THROUGH THE EVAPORATOR IS INCREDIBLE COMPARED TO A STOCK SYSTEM

The stock blower has two intakes. It looks like you are covering one and making one bigger. Is that a net positive?
Looks promising.
Thanks for posting.

Porsche Crest This early model 911 a/c system is a new high tech animal !!!

A FEW OF THE HIGH LIGHTS OF THIS NEW TECHNOLGY EARLY MODEL 911 A/C SYSTEM

The early model 911 a/c system is a new high tech animal

The only parts that were PORSCHE OEM WAS THE EVAPORATOR BOX AND IT WAS HIGHLY MODIFIED to suit my needs for an evaporator box that fit the body

THE SYSTEM HAS for example,

Modified VoV orifice valve injecting refrigerant into the evaporator and a custom modified Receiver Tank

Special Higher capacity CFM Blower for the evaporator

Highly Modified and Fully Insulated Porsche oem Evaporator box, to fully accommodate Special Higher capacity CFM Blower; increased cold air intake and exhaust openings and multiple level sealing and air rerouting, digital temperature controls

Special Higher capacity CFM Blower; for the front condenser; mounted in front of the battery; and into the body

Custom designed Front PFC condenser, that is also custom and fully shrouded and encased

Custom designed Rear PFC condenser

Control of refrigerant gases in new ways never done before

This New Technology 911 A/C System is designed to reliably run in the 30’s F. @ 97 F without freezing up and it’s been fully tested to the complete satisfaction of several very picky Porsche critics

I will upload more pictures and description in the coming days

Any Pelicanites running this system? I'm not reading through 41+ pages of this mess.

I for one, one day will put in AC since living in central TX, but I'm installing myself.

If I can't buy it and install myself, Vintage Air is getting my money.

Call Charles Griffiths at GTI and discuss with him your goals and budget. He'll figure out a way to get your car nice and cool inside.

Griffiths | Porsche Air Conditioning - Engine Components

I would never buy anything from Reid.
