Thanks 911Freak,

She's pretty much gonna stay at 'Targa Florio' ride height.

You've seen how the factory set up their car back in 73, right? Thing practically had a lift kit on it!

Had to show at least one interior pix with prototipo and DZug accelerator pedal... The stereo is in back and who cares what time it is

Pete and I figured if we kept the 7k tach we would be less tempted to over-rev her. Yeah, right.

At first I thought, "those Martini graphics are going to ruin the look of that car." But the more I look at it, I love it. Fantastic job. So many details, yet it took such a short amount of time to build.

Its a Really big paint booth that only resembles a parking lot...lol

We had a proper paint booth lined up to shoot her in and were cancelled on at the last minute. So in order not to get any further behind schedule, we lucked out with a very dry hot and calm day. I shot it early in the morning just after the dew had been burnt off by the sun. we finished her in PPG Global.

Can't wait to see everyone at Porsche Parade!

Will, we initially had the same reservations, and the last thing we wanted to do was add to the roster of marginally done Martini RSR iterations. It really can be hard to do without all the true parts (esp 15x11/9 wheels). However, we created this car to capture the spirit of the Martini RSR for those guys that wish to participate in our touring program in Europe which we hope to start in the spring of next year. To give the look and feel of the original car without going overboard $$ wise. In this sense, with attention to specific details, i think we have succeeded.

Thanks for all the thumbs up guys!

Just like the original D-Zug, we do what has to be done in order to get the car ready for the track! This is where we feel we're different than the other shops that like to take a ton of $$$ and deliver sub par crap after 10 months...

Its the "get it done, and do it right" mentality that people just don't think outside the box anymore. That's part of the reason we don't see that many inspired builds.

Final piece of the puzzle. Ducktail grill in place. Not really a big fan of the plain jane stock grill and we wanted something a little 'unconventional'. So we cut it out of piece of powdercoated grill mesh.

Grille

I like the grille. Slip a 1/2 inch nylon spacer under the top center mounting location and it will straighten and level that out nicely. Ask me how I know.

Regards,
Al

Have you got a tour route sorted yet, what countries do you plan to drive through as I may be able to help you with advice on a few fantastic roads you should do.

Thanks Captain, but got it covered. Have spent quite some time over last 10 years driving and motorcycling throughout Europe so have a large repertoire myself; The car is going to be staying in Sicily and Switzerland for hired touring of the Ring and old Targa Florio circuit and surrounds. Anyone interested contact me for more details or visit our website Dzugtours.com

Bought a large sheet off ebay a couple of years back knowing it would come in handy for something (oil cooler, inlet ducting, etc) Pretty stock stuff, so just poke around on ebay and you'll find it.

How many of you guys have girlfriends that adjust valves? Is this how you are making Christy pay her way to Savannah Pete?

Really nice build.
Three questions
1 at the beginning of the build the car was wearing an early whale tail. Do you still have it and is the rubber on it any good. If so do you want to sell it.
2 how do I go about finding more on doing one of your tours
3 I am interested in doing at the ring and can you advise me by pm how when how much

Thanks

Michael
