What is the sensor/switch dead-center, top in the back of a Carrera engine?
In my quest of solving my Carrera bucking and surging at low-RPM's, I saw the sensor/switch in the back of my engine at the top, dead-center very back between the sheetmetal pieces that is not hooked up to anything. I don't think it has been hooked up in many years as the connector has lots of junk in it.
It has a sheath over the lead/wires on it and a 3-prong male connector on the end. It is close to the breather housing. I know it probably is not my issue but curious what it is and I cannot locate it in the PET.

Are you sure it's not the male end of O2 sensor that is just lying in the wrong place?

sensor
I think he is wondering about the sensor that is a test pick up for the dealers, it ends up near the throttle body behind the fan. it is not a performance issue.

What is it for? Does it connect to anything or is it for dealer diagnostic equipment only?

Curious, is it another speed-reference sensor?

IIRC, it's a top dead center (TDC) sensor.

Correct. That one in the picture is the "diagnostic" TDC sensor. It does nothing to affect the behavior of the engine
