Stuck in Reverse AGAIN.....
So I had this stuck in reverse and first issue before. I worked on it several times and got it resolved by just pushing the transmission pin back in. I ended up actually making a new pin and that seemed to work for a while just fine. Now I am constantly having the car get stuck in reverse. Tried to take it out this morning, as soon as I put it into reverse the car got stuck that way. What can I do to have this stop happening? The new pin I made it slightly longer then the one that was originally in the car. I went by another thread from this site for size requirements. Any help is appreciated.

Bit more info. My car has a 915 Trans and a Wevo shifter. I can also shift into every gear freely, but still stuck in Reverse.

My problem was that the coupler was not aligned properly with the input shift shaft. There is a process to follow when mating the two parts. I'm sure there's plenty of info with a search.

usually it's because the trans was apart previously and one or both of the detents in the diff housing and/or center housing were not installed properly. these are not the two under the 17mm wrench sized bolts. disassembly required to fix.

there are two T head plugs closing the drillings for the detents on the top passenger side of the diff and center housings. they pry out and tap in. if you can see the rounded end of a detent down the hole, it's in the wrong place. mirror and flashlight required if it's in the car.

Thanks for the help. New issue. I got the pin pished back in, went for a drive. Parked the car after 20 minutes on the road. Now it doesn't start. No clue why that is.

Check ground at trans.
Will it push jump start?

I'll do that. Not sure about a push jump start. I just pushed it back in the garage for now. I'm not sure what could have happened. It cranks like it's going to start, gets close then just doesn't.

The no start issue may be your fuel pump relay, you may be able to switch the red and the black to check it.

I have a seperate switch for my fuel pumps. I can hear them kick on. The car is an 82, but has a 3.3 Turbo engine and 915 trans. Battery has solid volts.

Next would be spark then, pull the cap and check the condition of the rotor. Pull a wire and check to see if you getting spark?
