Dipsomania is the official medical term related to an uncontrollable craving for alcohol. It means "compulsive thirst" but the term when used, is reserved primarily related to the consumption of alcohol. As a result, a dipsomaniac is a person in which this condition appears, in the form of a physical and psychological craving for ethyl alcohol, especially liquor. However, the obsession is so compulsive that the dipsomanic will ingest whatever intoxifying liquid which is at hand, whether it is fit for consumption or not. Dipsomania differs from alcoholism in that it is an uncontrollable periodic lust for alcohol, with, in the interim, no desire for alcoholic beverages. However when dipsomania manifests, it usually results in multi-day or weekly episodes of excessive binge drinking and blackouts. It generally involves solitary alcohol abuse in combination with the loss of interest in any other usual activities. It is not known what causes dipsomania, it is thought that enzyme deficiencies may contribute to its root cause, in part contributing to depressive illness in many dipsomaniacs.

Damn, now the cat's out of the bag.

deathpunk is a reference to a Norwegian glam/punk rock band that I was a big fan of. Tho I do wish I had the option to change my user name to something a bit more subtle.

My initial emotional feeling when I floored my new 2001 BMW M Roadster for the first time.
However, I have since sold it and kept the name "Thrlls" with PP, as I started here in the Bimmer forums.
Strange thing is my wife thinks it's for something else!
Oh, and since Hawaii only allows 6 characters on the license plate, I left out the "i".

My name...

When I started out in this vintage racing game...long, long, ago...I had this horrid '68 912 that was more bondo, duct tape, rivets, and sheet metal screws than anything else. I tore the thing completely down to bare metal...and either sold, gave away, or threw out all the 912 stuff. I had people tell me "yeah but, it'll never be a REAL 911" My answer to that always was: "I never said it was...it's just a homemade one" Hence my name. and here it is...and no, it ain't slow.

My first panicked post was two weeks after I had bought the car, when the left-tensioner started failing on me after a spirited drive.

My Great Grandfather's dairy in Santa Monica...means near the sea. It was sold in the 60s to make way for the Marina Freeway. It still exists in Modesto though.

Barney is the nickname my car got (factory Aubergine), and 911RS was what it looked like for a long time. Now it's getting more aggressive bodywork and suspension.
