Big improvement

Finally scored a vintage one of these Only took 4 years (Yes I wanted one before our large, hairy friend made this style popular) Now I have a same, but new one that has been on the car since earlier this year, for sale This one has patina and a great history.

Gave it a quick detail before driving to work this morning.

small project I been putting off. Removed heat in my car for Euro Headers and M&K exhaust, this was the last hole to close up.

just realized I forgot to drill a hold, hahahaha

Began assembling my new wheels. BBS RS triple chrome plated, new 24k gold plated bolts. Custom 17" lip upgrade done by Jae Lee and Mirage Intl.

Truly a AWESOME person/shop to work with. These guys are amazing.

New cap, rotor, plugs, pressure sender, oil, filter and valve adjustment today. We're good to go for a while.

Did a bunch of small projects. Finished upholstering the passenger Side door bolster, put my clutch together, new hoses on the fuel tank expansion tank, started prepping the front of the targa bar for reupholstery. I also stripped the front targa pieces where the latches connect with the top of the windshield. They look great without paint!! Productive day!

Reconnected the shift linkage, installed the passenger seat, put the lights on, reconnected the battery, drove it round the parking lot (still can't get 1st) and parked it the opposite way so I could plug the battery maintainer in.

If it can drive onto the trailer in 2nd it can come to the Empire Empire Hill Climb Revival with me next weekend and watch

I actually did this yesterday - Tested out my clutch cable install - worked great! I was surprised that there was no adjustment required. (I was expecting there to be some). Runs great and the car felt happier.

As for the above post - first time in 25 years? wow, must have been a great feeling - congrats.

I resurrected the project less than 3yrs ago from were my father left it 25yrs earlier. During that 25yr hiatus it was either resting in a storage unit or garage. This is a car I grew up watching my father race POC and PCA events down in San Diego. Needless to say, I'm still processing the fact that the car is running. My father couldn't be happier, kinda like a kid in a candy store.
Still have a mountain of work ahead of me but the heaving lifting is done. All downhill from here.

during the rebuild process the brake system was completely rebuilt, rotors turned, and new pads installed. Now we just need to break them in.
