Drove it Saturday to the PDX C&C event and took my father with me. Lots of great Porsches showed up yesterday! I met a couple of Pelicans in person.
Something that made me feel good was that I saw other people taking pictures of my car. It's one thing to think that your own car is cool, but something else when others think so too. |

Installed new rear speaker covers as provided by an excellent member here on the forum. The old ones were such junk compared to the ones he is making. I did have to use slightly longer hardware to re-attach them, but I have no issue with that as the new ones are excellently reinforced. I also fixed a headliner rattle.
![]() The old ones fell to pieces as they were removed. ![]()

I made a driver's side pedal board for my 911T using checker-plate aluminium. I decided against purchasing a off-the-shelf one as it was unlikely to fit. Firstly the car is RHD and secondly it has been LHD to RHD converted at some point in its history so an off-the-shelf RHD pedal board probably would not have fitted without some modification.
The job has turned out well. I spent plenty of time with a cardboard cut out to try and work out dimensions and where the cut-outs for the pedals needed to be. It was quite tough cutting out the holes and shaping the outline so that it would fit in the foot-well. The aim was for it to fit without the need for clamps or bolts to hold it in place. I may need to add these but I went with a rubber strip top and bottom and it is wedged nicely in place. I will remove it, clean up the all the edges with a file and paint it black. Although it sits under the carpet I would prefer it to be matt black in case it shows through the slits in the carpet for the pedals. Another job ticked off the list. I have my engine lid, trunk and glove-box lights to install next and I should have finished all the finishing touches! Cheers, Neil |

Took the SC out for an evening drive with my daughter. Got a coffee for me and an ice tea for her.
Noticed a new stone chip when I got back home. Oh well. Touched it up and forgot about it.

Had the car ultra-fine sanded and buffed. While it was there, my buddy filled a LOT of paint chips. The car looks great...still no show queen but not bad after about 17 years together.

i cleaned the blue car up and placed her on jackstands in the garage. going to remove the engine and transaxle...clean up a few items in the engine compartment....install a fresh 930 shortbell transaxle as the current shortbell 3rd gears synchros are bad. then i will replace the braided aluminum gas lines from the tank to the engine...lots to do! and she will be ready for another 6 years of use or more!!!

I took a glance in its general direction. No time whatever to drive the car for several weeks now. That, and there is always something breaking when I do drive it, so then it sits while I search for unobtanium parts. Not a good summer for driving this year; lowest mileage season ever for me.

Me too...
Took a glance with sorrowful eyes...having not driven her since father's day weekend. Infant, house move, house purchase, remodel, and dreaded family have been first in line lately. Oh, I work once in a while too... I hate not driving it as that's when things start going wrong....

^Lately I've been driving to work, but only because it's a 30-35 min drive with plenty of time for the oil to warm and 6k rpm to be surpassed.
I replaced the gaudy silver Infinity high-quality door speakers with some $17 shipped (Amazon) low-quality speakers that at least have clandestine, OEM-looking black mesh grills. Sound is not that much worse than with the better speakers in this tin can ![]()

After work is walk/run time with wife and kid...fighting officer chair jockey look
![]() Silly me taking the shift/tunnel apart to do coupler bushings. Now it's apart, I just need to get time to reassemble/adjust. I will drive it to work on extra nice days once done.

OK, so after my lament above, I just said "F∞x!-it," this other work can wait. I got into the 911, which fired up promptly after nearly a month of languishing, and I went for a spin around the general region for an hour. The car ran with no new hiccups, but I got the steering wheel installed one spline off center when I put it back together the other day, so I'll pop it back off and straighten it and everything will be 'normal', knock on wood.
It felt good tooling around with a nice cool breeze today.
