Removed 40 years of dirt and gravel from Channel between the bumper mount and the inner fender. I suppose they needed to be solid to withstand the 5 mph test, but really a few drains holes would have been nice. Plus the wiper fluid tubes and headlight wire seem like they were placed there specifically to capture debris.

Finally got around to installing a new hood strut. Now the hood stays up on its own, what luxury!!

20-30 minute job.

JJ 911SC, If you don't mind me asking...what or how exactly are you planning on doing to the HE's - bead, media or sand blasting? Then are you going to ceramic coat or? I ask because I'm planning on doing some resto. to mine, they're not in horrible shape, but the "polished" finish has worn down & tired & I'd like to freshen them up while engine is out

I blast them using medium glass bead and the next owner can do Cerakote coating like Shaun @ Tru6 does.

What did you do to your 911 today?

Received more parts...

Got home from a very "long" and "tedious" day, like we all have from time to time. Alas, I walk in and find an early Christmas present.

I attack it like a fat kid hitting a cupcake at fat-camp....

I crack it open and immediately get hit with the aroma of "new leather".

Pictures in no way can truly convey the quality, feel, or appearance of the leatherwork Kamil and the team return to you.... amazing work!!!

Stickers too are a high quality heavy weight vinyl. Look great too, the wife has even started to claim them. Guess I needed to double the order.

Also received the foil stickers for the engine, including the odd-ball CC unit sticker. So, return you Cruise Control module back to factory spec and order a sticker for it. It's common for new coil stickers, why not the CC.

Replaced the fog light lenses (from our host). After 38 years, they had taken their fair share of stones etc.

What did you do to your 911 today?

Installed new fresh air box seal

Addressed the poor sealing used/new to me all red Bosch all red taillight lenses. Installed my own gasket on the lenses in an attempt to prevent water and gunk from getting to the new LEDs provided by our own Spoke.

Then sealed up the corners with some weatherstrip adhesive

Installed the new grounding pod under the dash allowing a connector for each ground.

Re-submitted myself for the daily double DSM award by damaging the new SKF 6202 steering rack bearing during install.

I'm curious: how long did it take to receive Carbone's merchandise after you placed your order? I ordered decals from them over 5 weeks ago and haven't received anything yet; tracking is stuck in 'transit' mode.

I would contact Kamil. Always got a quick reply allowing for the time differences. There is something not right and I would think it was held up because of it getting damaged or lost. Have you had a chance to reach out to them regarding your order? They were spot on for the entire process, order and shipping was pretty fast coming back from Poland.

Good luck
Trevor
