Doug,
It's been said here before, but they don't leak; they are marking their territory.
I've a leak or two on mine, but I tracked them down. Just takes a little time and willingness to take an oil bath.
It's good the sunroof stripe came off now. This winter you might have had a sad experience.
Best,
Terry

What did I do to my 911 today? I looked at my prior life-photos of my 356SC in full regalia, the 9ll S in full street race suit, the 82Sc, the 85 and on and on, and the 03 and 06C4s and then... I whipped my 3.0 case halves and other split things into the hot tank - convincing them that if they followed the cam housings and cam boxes into the steaming brine, they have an afterlife in my 914-6 GT currently underway...

That's what I did today.

See you guys at the Pelican event in RPV in the morning.. And,... Wayne better DW show up because I am using his book for this 3.0 build and I have a few questions...

I fixed my sunroof by wiggling the cable at the motor. :-/

Thanks Terry...yeah, I'm not sweating it. These cars have good days and bad...yesterday was one of the bad. She's due for a full service anyway, so we'll get her fixed up soon!

It was shot on film(!) and I'll get some proofs in a few days. Also felt anonymity for the model was best, since I didn't license her image.

Installed front and rear bumpers, new bellows, rubber bits and such and struggled a bit with LED conversion wiring issues - not all NP26 relays are created equal.

What haven't I done to this car since getting it LOL. Most recently, had some paintwork done, new suspension, Fabspeed muffler, intake, SW Chip, new steeing wheel, Rennshift shifter, LED brake/tail lights, full detail, and a complete tune up. Installed the Porsche Classic radio. Ceramic window tint (35%) on all windows including the windshield. And had a set of BBS RS restored and installed. Loving it.

Me, I removed the left exhaust manifold and fresh air pipe to make room for the installation of the oil pipe...that I forgot to install prior.

There's an hour of my life I'm never getting back...

I did nothing with mine because it's in Michigan and I'm in Pebble Beach. Not a bad trade off.

Talking

I installed Turbo Tie-rods and a bumpsteer kit.

(Footnote: Why is it that I take on projects in a carport when it's 110F outside?)

Bumpsteer spacer it: AMAZING!! I was driving around after the install looking for bumps mid corner to hit and I couldn't make the steering wheel jump. I didn't know what I was missing since the car has been lowered and had lots of bumpsteer. Great, cheapo upgrade.

Turbo Tie-Rods: I don't know if they put a special Stuttgart locktite on the threads of the inner tierods, but I've never had such a hard time unthreading a set from a steering column. Picture: Lots of cussing and using EVERY bit of strength to move it a quarter turn at a time before resetting the big wrench. What a ***** that was. The new ones threaded right in easily. (Blue locktite used)

So glad that's done. Time for an alignment.

How are you liking the Radio? Any difficulty on the install? I'm close to pulling the trigger on this....

My shop did the radio. Went right in, no issues. The phone feature is actually quite good surprisingly. The radio is just meh... It does look great but a $300 alpine would crush it hands down. The font is small the nav is worthless. They give you a tiny stylus to work on the tiny screen lol.

It does look the part though and that's why I bought it. One other funky thing is the accessory port thing. It's labeled upside down. We put it under the ashtray because it was a small flat metal surface. It's almost like it was designed to go on top of something the way they did the writing. It's weird...

It's certainly good enough for it's purpose, but wayyyyyy overpriced.

Mitch Leland steering bushing install. 20 minutes. Brilliant product when your oem 928 bushing finally kicks it.
