I would love to here more details about the new SSI company bc all the rumors say that the product has changed to thinner SS and a different number ?, which supposedly will rust. I would like to see this Urban Legend confirmed or denied. I need some for my 66 911. Thanks

John will probably know - he still lives nearby here in Norcal. - I will try to find out , and also see if I can make the drive to Viborg to check out what they are willing to show. I do not know who the distributors are in DK - They don't seem to have things like Oreilly, Grand Auto, Napa over there. I need one side for a 68 and both for a 3.6 in a 72.

John likely has a fabrication shop in the area. I will find out without being a stalker.

Not sure which grade John was using - I think the corrosion resistance is just with chromium content.. Although stainless steel definitely does rust in a salt environment - I believe marine heat exchangers have nickel content. There are other variations for working properties, for fine grain possibilities (think targa bar, delorean), and for sealing properties (foodservice). There must be someone who has the before and after side by side - patrickmotorsports is a likely candidate.

If you check the facts from jpgroups website: they state that they are using grade 304 grade steel for ssi's.

What are the chances you are in the following 2 videos? ....and what ever happened to your buddy that made all these cool videos? He seems to have vanished after his son was born.

That is my impression too! I do see him now and then for Porsche-meetings, though.

My dad and I am in the first two minutes of the first video! I kind of forgot about that. We became 1st and 2nd at that DE 5 years ago in my car :)

As the original gas shocks for the hood don't work well with GRP, I bought this cool part for holding the hood from our host. A little magnet glued to the hood makes it easy to find the place...

Love the progress to date and the regular updates but please tell me you are going to refinish the fuel tank. The rest of the area is beautiful but the tank needs respraying and detracts from the rest of it.

After leaving the body shop, my car had a short stop at a graphics shop to have scripts put on. The car is now at a Porsche shop to have a new headliner and the windows installed. They sent me a few pictures from the work in progres...
