WOW! Probably the most impressive build I've seen to date. Absolutely love it! Definitely not for the faint of heart. I'm in the process of doing my car (didn't go down as far as you did, but close enough), and anyone that has done the same can agree that threads like this give us hope when we are scratching our heads and wondering if we'll ever finish our projects, while staring at the boxes, which contain what used to be our 911's! There is light at the end of the tunnel!

You are an inspiration to us all!
Keep up the good work, and please post more pics!

SUBSCRIBED!

Alex,
It's good to see the progress you are making with your rally car. It does look like you are doing a great job on this project.

You've probably seen this post, but since you and i last spoke, I've licensed the Dzug crew to market/sell the EFI kit. They dyno'd my kit, installed on their 3.2 SS powered 911,.....with good results....................

These before EFI kit/after EFI kit results are at the rear wheels.

BHP= before horsepower
AHP=after horsepower
BTQ=before torque
ATQ=after torque

regards....and good luck with the project

Is that in comparison to carbs or CIS?

CIS...............I don't think that you will see a big horsepower improvement over a good set of carbs or MFI, nicely dialed in.......but I do think with EFI with independent throttle bodies that the ability to control the state of tune under any load, throughout the range, will result in more useable hp/tq and a more efficient engine.........taking advantage of modern engine fuel and ignition management while still retaining some of the retro-cool looks, sounds, etc.
regards,
al

PS: Sorry about the hijacking of your post Alex..................and now back to our regular station.

Hi Al,
I am looking forward to see this running.
Lately it has become a slow project due to other cars but now I think it will speed up again.

Nice results on dyno! I am expecting a bit more on Eur CR values...

Thanks for your kind words!

Great looking build! It's so nice to see proper cars being built. I'm at the early stages of my build on my '81 SC with most of my time being spent on my motor. I am hoping to get started on chassis prep soon...

Raced my old VR4 after a 5 year back in January and that's got me real excited about getting back to the sport!

Yes, I do think that "looks" also have an important role besides "functionality"...
I am also very anxious to go back to sport (13 years on our local championship) but I am not sure if with this car... Because, due to my "improving attitude" on some details,
this car has become a bit of a show car to my new small business I am starting, dedicated to "keep them running".
Because of this, it will probably show up on some motor sport events to promote my garage and will be for sale. I will probably never race this one!

Anyway, I will keep on trying. But definitely, this is not the "no problem if it crashes" kind of car...

I totally understand! The rising value of these cars along with the scarcity of parts has given me pause when it comes to my '81. Driving my old VR4 was fun because I don't really care if I bend a control arm, scratch fender or rip off a bumper. That being said, I would love to tear down a gravel stage @ 110mph in this thing...

It's exactly what I'd like to have on my SC :-)
