about to replace my starter. not too hard right?
guys,
My car wouldn't start after sitting idling for a few minutes at costco gas station. nothing happened when I turned the ignition switch. my starter is dying. ![]() I bought a high torque starter to put in my 81 euro SC. I also bought the "piggy back" terminal splitter and 4 new 10mm washers. I jacked up my car and placed the passenger's front and rear wheels on 4.5'' blocks of wood. I plan on removing the heater hose first before removing the starter. Isn't it guys? Am i missing anything? Seriously i am a lillte worried. For some reason I m a little nervous. Probably lack of confidence and I have to be under the car. ![]() It is not a difficult job to tackle right guys? thanks ![]() |

Don't forget to disconnect the battery before you slide under it.

Not difficult but if those are the original nuts you may find it difficult to get sufficient leverage to break them loose. A little penetrant will help if you can see where you are aiming.

Snap a picture with your phone so you remember the wire configuration... I had good luck removing mine pay using penetrant oil, then tightening slightly, then loosening... A trick I picked up from this board when I removed my heat exchangers.... And extensions, yes....
