SWB adjustable spring plates and alignment

I began a new project this weekend; I'm modifying my shortened 911SC spring plates to have a screw adjustor like Sway Away no longer makes. I'm also beginning a four wheel alignment and corner balance using the corner scales and simple string alignment aid I made and will be marketing shortly; more on that later.

I first removed rear shocks and installed my height adjusting rods:

I also disconnected my front sway bar drop links and connected them to the brackets on my inner wheel well:

I adjusted rear ride height while supporting front cross member to avoid corner weight bias:

Made a CAD drawing and templates for modifying the spring plates:

And:

Photo of brackets aligned on spring plates ready for welding:

That's all for today.

LOVE these on my '66 912.

Took some grinding of the screw mount and the lug it presses on to make 205's not rub.

I can send pic of the grinding if needed. I can also measure it too.

Hi Jon,

I think I'm good, I checked tire clearance before I removed for the surgery. Running 225/50-15's on 7Rs with spacers.

I installed and adjusted my car using these just fine. I need to make one more iteration in ride height that is beyond the range of adjustment but haven't gotten there yet.

I used the rigid links to adjust ride height and alignment and then installed t-bars and adjusted to just take the load ff the links.

I made the links for use in assembly and other tasks during my build as a convenience to hold the car at ride height while working on it...this is primarily why I had the links in the first place.

Paul, can you provide some details for your mod??

Thickness of ne blocks?

Bolt size and threads?

A PDF of the drawing of the plate for modifications??

I know it's asking a lot be we want to perform this mod on our project car and love the DIY aspect.

Paul - those ride height links look like just the thing for locking the suspension and figuring out the center of gravity.
