need help with Identifying engine harness, connector trouble, 76ish..

Need your help with identifying Engine wiring harness.

Background: -76 911 targa ( 2.7 ), Shot the engine... bought a used engine ( green shroud, 11 blade fan, engine serial states -76 2.7 ) oline from a guy that had it in storage in his garage to be put in his 914, but since he never came around to converting the standing fan, he had now found another engine to pop in instead, hence the sell..


My original harness:



Yes i ripped the insulation of to be able so see where the wiring went..
Note connector in yellow circle 2 poles in shape of a "T"

The harness on the exchange engine:

oh yeah and an relay, tucked away at the back of the exchange engine




I pealed off a bit of the electrical tape that acts as harness holder on each of them but realised that it wasnt just to swap connectors and "rewire" almost the same but not entirely.. and more Cables as well...

What have i got ?
what should i do ?

Someone has used a later year 6 pin CDI harness and converted it to an earlier 3 pin Harness and made a number of other unique, somewhat scary looking changes. I wouldn't recommend using it.
So...
I am assuming the engine isn't in the car yet.

1. If it is good pliable condition and no insulation is cracked or degraded. Wrap it with the proper insulating tape (Elliot 1000E is one of the best types available in N.A. to use). (E-Bay)
Then put your old harness on the new engine.

2. Send your original old one to me to confirm it is still good to use. If it is, I will make any needed repairs, ensure functionality, re-wrap it properly, and then you can put it on the new engine. (reasonable charge)

3. Have me build you a brand new engine harness for your '76 engine.

Eeeeeehhhh Ooooooops... sometimes I'm a bit to optimistic it seems

( promised the son he was allowed to borrow "the" car when he graduates in June and now trying to get it running to keep my promise )

Harness can be swapped out with engine in the car. A partial drop and alternator removal is "all " you need to do.
I built a harness for someone with a '77 and he was able to do it with the engine in place.
Swore he'd never do it again, but it can be done.

If you were to mail me your old harness this week priority mailing Monday, it would be returned to you next week. You could even have a new one within 10 days or less if you think your old one is toast.
