I use a cheap plumbing wrench that I have. It fits perfect. I don't use the bar that fits thru the hold but used a cresent wrench on the end. Works every time.

The normal 27mm socket that I have is too fat to fit thru the hole.

Duh-huh! 😁

I’m here every Thursday. Remember to tip your waiter or waitress.

You can't buy happiness, but you can buy car parts which is kind of the same thing.

Thanks for reviving this thread, pmax!

I think I needed to buy 3 different sockets before one would fit into the cavity.
This should be required reading for anyone diving into the world of car repair.
Nothing is ever as it seems, and everything is more complex than it looks, and all internet DIY's omit steps.

Sugar, at least for me, having everything laid out in full detail would take a lot of the fun and satisfaction out of the DIY hobby.

Yes, shopping for the next tool is part of it. If that feels like a chore, perhaps you should reconsider taking it on.

LOL. I HATE working on any project that isn't laid out exactly step by step.

I love buying tools. I buy new ones every month.
I make sure I have ever tool I could possible ever need.
I have lots of tools I have never even used yet.
If there is a tool I see someone post about in a project, I will buy myself one.
Just in case.

Yea, most 27mm sockets don't fit.
Check if you have a 1 1/16" socket in your kit.
