Five minutes about an old guy and his old 911

As it happens, I got permission to post this video today -- which is also my birthday.

This is the English-language version of a 5-minute clip made by Auto Bild magazine in Germany. It's about my history with my 911, and also my ongoing obsession with making the car quicker at my home track of Willow Springs International Raceway.

The clip was made by Dani Heyne and Justin Evidon, and there was some behind-the-scenes drama right from the start. They'd asked to follow along on my early-2014 attempt at getting below a 1:27 lap for the first time -- and a surprise rainstorm threw a wrench into things on the drive up, since I'd removed my wipers that day to (ever-so-slightly) improve the car's aerodynamics. The rain hit hard in the Soledad Pass, and it was really only with the help of their camera car that I was able to get off the freeway at all. Fortunately, the rain didn't last long, and the clouds that came with it made for some really stunning photographs once we got to the track.



I'm not sure who the target audience is for this -- it's both technical and also a little rudimentary. But I'd be interested in Pelicanites' response.

Jack I must admit the long hood Porsche bug bit me hard after first seeing photos of your car about 2 years ago, i've since read a bunch about your car & garage etc. I've also recently bought my first Pcar, though not a long hood, its already a hotrod of sorts so back dating it may be in its future. However I still would love to have a long hood similar to yours one day.
