Oops! Ryan, thanks for reminding me about the web site. I'll try to get that up later today. We hope to have the route finalized in 2 or 3 weeks.

With Ryan reminding me, the web site WWW.Go-Michael.Com/Drive2 is up and running. Not much info on it yet, but we should have the route locked down within 2 weeks.
Feel free to email me with questions and route suggestions.

Keith, That would be great. Even if I did get it running before the ride, I don't know if I would want to make it's first ride 4 hours long. But then again at least I'd have lots of help diagosing problems

I should be able to make it and might bring my wife along. I'm getting my front brakes rebuilt next week and am going to have my tire rub problem addressed so the car can handle all the fun. Jim at Eurowerks will be doing the job.
I'm planning to bring along some FRS radios. I have four and two will probably be spoken for (oksidak and me), but that leaves two up for loan. I plan to get a hands free option for myself so I can concentrate more on my driving. Anyone have any suggestions? Circuit City seems to have a number of neat ones available. Two of my radios use 2.5mm jacks, like many cell phones use. --- Will Ballance '82 911SC coupe |

RECON COMPLETE
The route for the December 7th Drive is complete. We'll post a map later in the week, but here are a few highlights:
We'll meet in Statesville, off of I-40, exit 150 in the partking lot for the Antique Mall, at 9:30 AM. The mall is a couple hundred yards north of the Interstate, and there a couple of gas stations across the street. The route will include parts of Rt. 16, 194 and 268, plus the Blue Ridge Parkway for some great photo shots. Lunch will be in the Boone / Blowing Rock area. We'll finish up in North Wilkesboro area so getting home to any part of the State will be easy. Watch this BB and our web site WWW.Go-Michael.COm/Drive2 for more details.

I'm still a go but my car won't be. If KC's girlfriend goes I'll need a ride from the meeting point since my daily driver won't be able to keep up

Can someone else offer Tim a ride this time around? The way it stands now, my g/f will be riding with me, and with the project that Tim's working on, I'm sure he could use a little "p-car motivation" in the form of a great ride. Tim, it was great meeting you the other night! I can't wait 'til the 7th!!!

No problem. Tim can ride with me, and I would bet that he gets offers to ride in other cars too. That way he can sample early cars to later models.

Tim I'll let you get some seat time with me if you like. Looking forward to our second run. Have to adjust the valves and get some heat going though.

Hopefully, I should be able to make it. I had a blast on the last one!
Tim, if you're looking for a little "late model seat time" (although I'm not really sure if 12 model years old is "late model" any more), you're more than welcome to spend a little time in the 964. And mine has heat! Just kidding, Omar! Shoot, the way our winter's go, we may not even need heat. Mid-60's and sunny today! Gotta love that Carolina weather.

I don't need no stinkin a/c and in April-May when I was getting my 911 back together I didn't give a rats behind about heat I just wanted her back on the road.
All I have to do for the heat is get the hoses that run between the flappers and my SSI's. I assume they are all the same between the model years (assuming manual controls) Hope to see you on the ride trent. Does the Charlotte group want to meet some where for the ride up to Statesville?

Tim, If you (and anyone else leaving from or passing through the Triad area) wants to meet somewhere and cruise up to Statesville together let me know...I'm pretty close to I-40. (....hmm thinking....How can I get a chance to ride in some of these awesome cars?). Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!

that'd be cool for me. If dtw's coming up from raleigh then I may be coming from home home but it would still work out.
