Year of car would help, it does matter for where connections are made.
Where is the tach signal wire that should come out of the harness with the red wire?. It is normally white and connects to the purple/black wire on some years...

Dennis,

This is a 1973.5. It had a red wire running to double prong on the bottom of the Perma Tune, but there was also a SS braided ground there, that appeared to originally connect at this point. The red wire did not make sense.. the other white wire that comes off of the double prong on the bottom runs into the harness where the brown grounds connect to the side of the engine compartment.

looks pretty normal, for the info provided. what's the issue? no start? check point gap and see if they're old and crispy. permatunes have had failure issues for eons. do you have 12V to the center red wire with the key on?

No issue yet, I am just completing something someone else started.. I adjusted the wiring to what you see in the picture as it was very different. I just wanted another set of eyes on it before I gave it a go.

Thanks, greatly appreciated.

permatune

1st pic is the end view of the plug from the Permatune website. The second pic is the wiring diagram for 73 911, showing the colors of the wires and location on the CDI plug.
regards,
al

PS: based on your pic/wire colors...It looks right.
