They may fit but for maximum performance potential you want them on 9s

for 8's and maximum performance potential you do want 225/50

for 205/55x16 you would want 7.5, but since Fuchs never made a 7.5, 7 will do fine, 8 is outside the tire manufacturers spec range.

Thank you Bill for pointing out the actual true about what tire sizes were designed for what rim width/ You are absolutely correct, and people tend to ignore the fact that the side walls play A big part in not only handling, but safety, and stretching buy putting on a rim to wide or bulging, by using a rim to narrow, while some think it looks cool, is not the proper or size and not designed for most of our styles of driving.

I have both 8s &9s, currently running 7&8X16s with 205/50/16s & 225/50/16s, this choice was based on a couple of things, one being tires available at the time (needed then in a day) the other, we get a lot of rainy weather in FL, and I switch back & forth with daily drivers and the 225s on 8 are less likely to hydroplane if I get caught in the rain.

8" seems like extra wheel for no reason with a 225 on the front no?
