I used the plan above and modified my 964 crossmember for my conversion. I also installed a reinforcement kit on the crossmember while I was at it. Check out page 5 of my build thread and you can see how I modified my tins as well. Supposedly it is much cleaner/easier to modify 3.0/3.2 tins than 3.6 tins.

thabks for the updates fellas. bustarib, looks like page 5 on your build has expored links to the pics. does anyone know if the console from a 79 or 80 will fit with the non-3.6 crossmember?

Yes, it will work OK but, the 3.6 also has an aluminum intermediate spacer/AC mount piece which is needed to fit over the large harmonic double pulley. The 3.2 and earlier console won't fit over the large pulley, so to use it you need to source an aftermkt smaller pulley to replace the harmonic pulley (964 only, 933 has a non harmonic pulley) and discard the aluminum spacer/AC mount unit.

I'm not sure what exactly I used. But looking through my records, I know I bought two studs from Pelican.
