sammy This will mount exactly like the BAE kit so muffler would be about the same. I am planning on making the mufflers right exiting

Ben,
When I was fabricating a pipe for my turbo project (which I never completed) I found that the turbo had to sit higher up in order to get enough room for the oil drain to go into the left valve cover. Not sure if you have enough height as shown now or what your plans are for oil drain. Cheers,

Cool. That's what i'm lookin fer, a muffler that isn't loud, but has low back pressure, bolts up to the BAE turbo system, and exits out the right hand side.

tony this is the exact height as the BAE kit is . I would assume it to be fine but I will be bolting it up this coming week with the turbo so that will tell all. Thanks for all the suggestions everyone

this has been interesting i was looking to do a 3.6 conversion but this may be more cost-effective more fun and easier for a DIY er but can anyone email the pdf manual as it seems to be essential reading to complete this project

I'm with Bob. I planned a 3.6 conversion from the time I got the car, but after more thought and the fear of a 3.6 purchase going sour after all that investment I reconsidered.
I'll have probably just as much in mine with a newish engine, but much more of the cost will be in new hardware and much less reliant on a used engine having to work flawlessly. I better have more than 275hp in the end too ![]()

the HP gain looked good but for the cost as well as my motor outlay I could pick up a Turbo and smile every Drive out, luckily my bird was a low cost with all the C2 bling on a 83sc, so did anyone actually finish a DIY install without actually purchasing a BAE kit not many reposts of the finished article in 4 years....

What have you done with the bonnetts, I would be very interested to see what you have come up with, would you consider selling just the bonnetts to all those who are still using the old BAE ones.

I also have some 993 heat exchangers for sale that would work very well for a turbo conversion. Here is the link.
FS 993 Heat exchangers for 3.0-3.2-3.6

exciting news here. I bought a stock 930 intercooler for my turbo/efi project and It is a bolt on with the aluminum airbox. I am really excited because of the clean look. Just wanted to give all a heads up because I know some have gone that route and wanted all to know it works and the IC are cheap 50-100 on ebay
