How I remember setting my Cis with out a/r was I pulled an injector and adjusted it until it started to dribbled then backed it off till it stopped.

I'm only worried about upper RPM air/fuel ratio. It runs fine now, but maybe I should add an exhaust temp gauge. I've heard this gives instant feedback about running lean.

Have you ever heard of someone installing a knob that lets them adjust CIS while driving?

I dont think the cis is adjustable via the fuel distributor that only adjusts idle, The wur is responsible for enrichment or leaning but most wur's on a sc are non adjustable. I dont understand the reluctance of most in adding the 7th injector with the hobbs switch, its cheap and it works. Suter has been running his with it and I did with mine. My A/R on boost was right where you would want it, this was at 9lbs. You can set the hobbs or similar pressure switch to fire when you want it to.
Maybe it's to uncomplicated and simple for many to grasp. I plan on installing it with my 930 intake and Euro fuel distributor just incase I may need it above 10lbs..

I see no negatives in using the 7th injector. I would like to hear from someone that actually has had problems using one.

I plan to run about 5 lbs of boost. Can I upgrade to an adjustable WUR?

At 5lbs. your CIS is going to supply enough fuel without worries.

The early CIS is so simple it will supply on demand, the later versions with the throttle meter and lambda sensor and adjustable wur on the turbos were more tuneable but generally the tuning was done for cold and hot starts and idle emissions. When the CIS is called up to deliver at WOT it will deliver. The only systems that I know of that the CIS is adjusted to deliver more fuel is the 3.3 turbos and newer that are running 1 or more bar of boost.
I have the Euro distributor on my set up because it delivers more fuel than the USA version which will allow me to run at 1 bar or more if I choose too.

At 5psi you don't need to do anything to ignition or fuel. Stock CIS will handle that just fine.

Sold my 928 to spend more time with my 911. No time yet, but that BAE kit stares at me every time I walk through the garage.

Putting the MSD on first.

Where's the best place to get eurethane hoses and adapters?

I never did see a dyno on the origional Bae car. Where does the 3.0 non intercooled sc engine sit on a dyno with 7.5 psi?

iamchappy,

You most likely covered this, but I'm going to ask. Did you have your small rod end offset (like Henry at ST does which requires an engine tear down) or just how did you run 3.3 pistons with 3.0 crank?

You can explain in whatever detail you like or a thread. Either would be appreciated. Sure I'd like custom Carrillos, but that means a full tear down and I might as well just buy JE's at that point, right?

I had Henry at Supertec modify the rod bushings for me and purchased a really nice set of 92 turbo pistons and cylinders from him also, this was the most cost effective way for me to go, and I think stock turbo pistons and cylinders used or new would be better than JE and new cylinder route.
I believe the Sc 3.0 rods are stronger than the 3.3 rods and I used arp rod bolts with 928 rod nuts on Henry's recomendation.
I dont plan on pulling high rpms I did install racing springs but on a turbo there really is no need to ever pull past 6400 rpms.
Unless you want a to build a high revving engine why spend the huge dollars on the rods.
I had to tear down for a full rebuild as my oil pump sucked up something and siezed. We figure something had found it's way into the oil tank and got sucked into the pump.
Here is what I did:
Rod bushing modification using my Sc rods
Arp rod bolts with 928 nuts
930 turbo oil pump
92 3.3 pistons and cylinders
Elgin valve springs
Supertec head studs
twin plug heads
Supertech Burns brother gen2- twin plug distributor conversion
86 930 intake and insulators ported out
Euro fuel distributor and Wur (lambia not sensor not needed)
400gph Bosch racing fuel pump, takes the place of using 2 pumps like
the 930's have.
I am still going to hook up my 7th injector with an adjustable pressure switch just incase I may need
it on high boost.
Spearco core intercooler 1080cfms
K27 7200
Tial wastegate
Tial BOV

My car is in the body shop for paint so I have yet to fire it up and get things sorted out. I just recieved a set of all season tires as I figure I will be testing it out and breaking it in over the winter months when the streets are clear.

Thank you very much for the details. I had thought that the best cost effective route too with the help and knowledge of Henry. He does seem pretty optimistic on his "new" P&C offerings, yet his website is of little help. He gets more mileage on here helping than his webdesigner gives him.

I've built several engines yet not a 911 yet. Will the rods slide out of the case without splitting? I'm assuming no, yet don't know this for sure.

Again, thanks Chappy

I dont think there is anyway around not splitting the case to replace rods.
