Alternator Light On after engine Off? Help!
I turn on the engine the alternator light goes off and all is working fine. When I shut the engine off the alternator light will come on and stay on (key or no key). Any clues on how to troubleshoot this? Engine running, light off - Engine off, light on???

Could be a shorted diode in the alternator.

Check your battery ground and be sure the terminals are also clean and tight. If unsure, fully charge your battery then see if the light continues to stay on.
This is a cheap fix that actually worked for me - no guarantees.

I will leave the battery tender connected tonight and see what happens before removing the alternator
