Nice color of the plating! How do you re-plate the steering u-joints without damaging the rubber shaft seals?
Just replace the split lock washers or wave washers. Most of the originals have already lost the spring in their steps. Be sure to take a look at the slotted pot metal lug that holds those window regulator springs onto the frame. The lugs are notorious for breaking off at the base where the lug post is staked into the frame http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/945190-i-found-part-bottom-my-door.html Edit: It looks like the regulator at the top of the picture has already lost its lug |
Since your car is a 1982 model, the engine will have the small port heads. If you really want to make this bad boy wake up, either have the heads ported or buy a set of Carerra large port heads. If you are going over about 10:1 compression, you also might want to consider twin plug ignition. Xtreme Cylinder Heads in Florida can do any/all head work you want. By using something like Electromotive crankfire coils, you will eliminate the distributor and get infinitely adjustable timing. Being able to fine tune the timing advance by turning a few knobs really aids final tuning! Cams. If you want a nice, aggressive street engine, 964 cams make a good choice. Or, since you will have ITBs, you can go with something a bit more radical. Good luck!

Now wait a minute here. What color is that? a custom blend perhaps?

Powdercoating is like potato chips. Once you start, you just can’t stop until the chips/parts are all done?

Getting there!
Also, if any of you are looking for a really good painter, this is the guy. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1532456785.jpg |
Love the color Ryan!!! Let me know if you need anything from Sparco! Len has my info and so does Mark where you are!

Awesome project and color! Reminds me of the one Singer used for its initial Singer DLS renders.

Fix that window regulator spring yet? It'll make your window go up quicker!
