rdane Thank you! I always wondered how the muffler was going to look on my car, it sure looks nice on your car so hopefully it will look the same on mine. Is the fiberglass getting damaged or is it just getting the black carbon deposits on it? Any suggestion on how to avoid damage from the heat on the rear CTR bumber cover?

Damaged? Don't know. But there is a lot of air space between the bumper cap and the muffler. The fiberglass gets extremely hot to the touch with a little driving and you can still smell the glass curing, all of which surprised me. I am half waiting on the paint to bubble. Only time will tell. Be interested in hearing what the other's see on their cars.

Couple of things that I now know and would do different. I would get the back bumper fully vented. My bumper gets extremely hot and is only bottom/center vented. It will make a difference I suspect on the paint's finish in a short time.
On the front bumper I would make sure that the bottom lip reinforcement and attachment lip points up instead of down as the SHAW piece does. I added an original RUF ruber lip and it now sets too low as compared to the original bumpers which had the attachment point above the bottom of the bumper lip. Fully vented bumper (bottom and sides) and a good heat shield is certainly going in the right direction.

I received my BW bumper caps yesterday, let me start with a question
To those that have purchased these parts, do your turn signal/marker lights fit this poorly? ![]() ![]() The lenses sit about a 1/2 above the surface of the bumper. It seems to me that they should sit flush. Brad was a great guy to deal with, very friendly and helpful and gave a good price on the parts. I must say I am dissappointed overall Here is my story ![]() The original reason I elected to go with the BW pieces over the other providers was the original thought that based on Bill V's caps from BW that I could easily mount the Ruf rubber lip on the cap. Once people started to get their parts it was apparant that the molds had changed since Bill bought his parts. No big deal, just more work for me. Also was told that shipping could be to a work address to save on shipping costs, but when speaking to Brad he said he had to ship to the same address as the billing address on the credit card. $90 shipping ouch. Parts were packaged poorly (wrapped in cardboard with some newspaper thrown in) the "boxes" were pretty beat up by the time they got here and I was supprised that the fibreglass hadn't been cracked anywhere. I had assumed (my own fault for not asking) that similar to other bumper caps (ie MikeZ's RS replica cap) that there would be studs bonded to the front and rear caps to mount to brackets that would need to be fabricated to replace the bumper shocks or to a nerf bar. How are you guys attaching these? Overall the quality of the parts is OK, but I still believe I will be doing a lot of finishing work to get these to match the quality of the rest of the car. (see light question above) Since it was stated these would require essentially no finishing work to install this is again the another reason I chose BW over the other manufacturers since if I wanted to do a bunch of finishing work I could have gotten the Rennspeed parts and saved a considerable chunk of change. Maybe I was just expecting too much as my only other experience with fibreglass products are genuine Porsche pieces and the quality is of no comparison. Hopefully I'll feel better once they are installed and painted. Todd

Todd i have the same problem with the signals not being flush
![]() Mine has the lip to attach the rubber spoiler, very happy with that after seeing some without those because i dident think of it when i bought them. Like yours mine will need lots of work to get them nice. Take the time getting them to fit nice it will show in the end. I fitted the rear bumper and had to take some fiber away to make it fit nice took me about 2 hours and they look good now i think. Good luck on the project. Cheers, Ed

Todd, have you discussed your problem with BW? I'll contact Brad to discuss with him why he could not ship to your work as it was explained to me earlier. As for the studs, non of the other vendors indicated that their product comes with them.

Not really any reason to talk to Brad, he told me he couldn't ship to my work address and I agreed to those terms. The quality of the parts is what it is and I'm sure with work they will turn out fine. Todd

Happen to speak to Brad at BW today, and he explained that if anyone wants to ship to their place of business in order to save some shipping cost, you have to clear that with your credit card company. He will ship anywhere you want, but to protect himself against the credit card company, he will only ship to the billing address of the c.card, unless you clear it with your CC comp.
No biggie...just an update. Also, Brad is working on a mold for the CTR front which won't have the driving light recess/holes. Instead it will have a round cooling duct similar to the yellow one in one of the privious post. |

Mine is still sitting in exactly the same place as before in the garage. Still waiting for Brad to finish up modifying the front bumper fog light inlets into brake ducts. I've got to do a color change anyway, so this will be a long term work in progress.
Just out of curiousity, what have those of you with the CTR rear bumper done for a muffler? I am either going to modify the stock exhaust with an extra outlet on the right or get a muffler built. BTW, for those who may have had problems getting the front bumper lights to fit properly, Brad has fixed the problem in his mold and I am sure all future pieces will be fine. For those who may still have problems, send him back the bumper and get him to fix it! Brian |

Ed, I am guessing that since you are in Holland that the parts you are mounting are not from BW? I just wanted to confirm this so we know that the mounting/fitment problems are not exclusive to the BW products.
Overall, my parts have fit very nicely with the exception of the turn signal lenses which Brad has now fixed and paid for the shipping on. Brian |

I had to jump through a bunch of hoops but I came up with an actual RUF rear bumper mounting kit which includes the little reflectors and the license plate lights. The reflector looks like std early Porsche. It has across the top -ULO-515-R. The next line has I or 1 then a circle with E1 in it then 21327R3 The last lin has CH 1 0510 03 then an A in a circle then 5159
The license plate lights are Hella, it has two part numbers DGM8186LT and K2821/1. It also has in bigger script TL7 and SAE170 I hope this helps any one trying to put the correct lights on their CTR replica's
