Have been going back and forth between a RUF conversion or Turbo look.
Had decided on the Turbo look. Yeah definitely turbo look. That's it, gonna bite the bullet and do it. Read this thread and I'm back on the fence big time. You guys suck. ;) Some really sweet cars, good job guys. Scott |
Wow!
Tim's and Craig's cars look great. I gotta get some trim rings for my H4's too. The semi-monochromatic look that results from getting rid of all the black rubber stuff is a noticeable improvement, in my opinion! Nice job everybody. SmileWavy |
Another RUF job...
Here's mine... now 155 pounds lighter after the seats, AC detete, and the RUF stuff. That, along with the euro premuf, dansk 2 out, and SteveW chip makes for a peppy ride!

Ruf CTR Tank

I picked this up last year. It was verfied by Ruf as being one of theirs. Tom |
Just reporting on my progress on my CTR replica. The rear bumper has been modified to have rear reflectors and bumper vents. The rear porsche reflector has been removed and now has two rear fog lights. The mirrors have been shaved and the RUF CTR mirrors have been modified to fit a cab. It's about a week away from color (Don't ask, it's a secret!:)

No ideas on what to do with it but I am actively seeking an early rally tank 110 liter for a SWB car (1967). Tom |
Nice work Pie!
Tom, that Ruf tanl..did they just remove the spare tire section and then added new sheet metal? |
Pictures of my updates
Here is some pictures of my front and rear bumper update. This started as a 911S, I had to cut, and weld in SC rear flares. I dropped the 2.7 for a built 3.0 with SSI and Dansek sport muffler. Its using a MSD al6 for the ignition. Lots of other updates ,too long to list.

Nice Rick...you know that 27230 was an aborted birth of GruppeB. Luckily Sir John planted the right seed...now go register! :D
Looks very good. Nice choice of rocker cover. |

Thanks, Pie |
What are all you guys using for heat shield on rear bumper? I am having heat problems, bumper gets very hot.
|
I am not using anything. It gets warm but not too hot to touch.
|
I know one well-known Pelican had a heat shield made with the cutouts to match the bumper vents. I would think the shield would be a great precautionary device.
|
Your 77 911s looks beautiful Rick ;) . What kind of rocker panels are those?
|
Thanks Pari
They are "SKN" from Better Bodies. Rick |

Holy crap Pie! (LOL...I just said crap pie ) I should have figured that statement would come back and bit me. I would like to convert the Fat Bastard to the CTR look, but it'll have to wait until I finish the original Bastard....
|
I figure more than half the RUF conversions on this board have you to blame....The least you can do is join the club!
Just tell the wife that being this is your daily driver that lighter, more aerodynamic bumpers will save gas. |
