Doing the same lights for mine.
I like the idea of LED units instead of the old Hella’s Where did you get the light units?

The lights actually came on the car. I decided to keep them as it fitted in with the weight reduction mission, and they have grown on me and now I’m “sort of” continuing the R theme with the front. Got some covers to replace the front light assemblies (removed more weight) and gets a functional brake vent hole similar to the 911R front end...

Took some more weight out with 935 front suspension, poly windscreen and wheels.
Put some more back in with extra roll cage bars for chassis stiffness and safety, and some rear suspensions mods and bracing. Expect wet with driver and maybe some driver cooling gear around 2400lbs (Or less....)

Fitting the front signal cover / vent.
I had some blanks but they were only half the length covering the indicator void, and I then still needed to buy the horn grille cover, or make up some mesh grille. So found these, and like all fibreglass parts required some cutting and modification! It’s really never ending.... but I keep reminding myself, be patient, just do it once the way you want it now, and will be better than changing it later.

Some of the larger body parts now fitted...
While a little harsh on the eyes in full sun, pleased to see the lines of the car still show up, and are not totally dominated by the colour. ![]()

Looks good!!! Glad to see the updates and that it's coming along together quite nicely! Did you get the wing all figured out already too?

Yes, after doing research and comparisons, decided to go with with APR wing pictured below. Spec’d the attach spacing so ill be able to run on my new GT3 style duck tail, or the RS3.8 tailbase. APR are making the wing now, and I plan meet KC and pick up early July ![]() Will do my own testing, but expect the GT3 style duck tail to be the go to set up on the high speed circuits with lower drag penalty. Looking forward to getting back to Bathurst and our new track at Tailem Bend to test....

Awesome news! Does this mean you're going to be running two different sets of uprights, and at different heights?
Let me know when you figure out the dates you'll be out here again, I'll make plans to meet up with you!

Yes Eric,
Two tailbases and two sets of uprights. Have run a widebody with RS3.8 tail on the previous car with a much smaller wing element. The challenge on this car will be balancing the front with more rear aero. For low speed events like club motorkhana's I can remove wing entirety and just run the duck tail.

Some boxes arrived this week!!!
New wheels... Light and wide @ 15-17lbs for 17"s ![]() Thanks to Ryan @ Jongbloed who made a very light set of wheels for me. Was a bit of planning involved, and by knowing more about the car, its weight and how it was going to be used, we could optimize a wheel that would be super light, but importantly still be strong and reliable on track. Ended up going with an aero series wheel with a smaller centre and stepped barrel which helped keep the weight down and saves well over 12lbs of rotating mass for the set. The front and rear look a different colour in the photo below, but it's just reflection, they are both anodised black (paint's too heavy)

Knowing I was chasing weight, Jongbloed built the wheels with all titanium hardware... saved nearly a pound per wheel replacing the standard ARP fasteners!
