I have a URO seal on the shelf with no part number.
Any way to tell by measuring which version it is?

Hi Brian, the earlier versions would measure about the same as an OEM seal. The outer lip on the latest-gen URO seal is about 3mm wider, see photo.

Is this seal available anywhere?

URO-009765

I received 911 541 225 03 from Pelican but it's not the URO part and does not reach the corners on my windshield frame.

Thanks in advance,

Karl

I now need a new windshield gasket. Has anyone had any luck getting the updated one? Our host shows them as unavailable and I am reluctant to buy one from somewhere else and end up with the old style.

Mark Salvetti 09-21-2024 02:01 PM

I ordered mine from Rock Auto, but I think it was shipped direct from Uro. Came in a Uro shipping box with Uro shipping tape. About $60 with shipping.

Mark, that is good to know. Looks like the later batch # also. I will order one and confirm here that they are still selling the new part. Thanks so much for your reply and providing the photo.

I was able to order one from our host this morning :-)

UROParts 09-27-2024 08:16 AM

^ Not seeing our seal live on Pelican's website, would you happen to have a link?

PTRL HD 09-27-2024 08:35 AM

Sure thing:

I wanted to add this about Fuyao aftermarket windshields - they are too narrow and may be the reason for poor fit with Porsche genuine gaskets. I just bought the new URO version windshield gasket and will install on a glass from another vendor (not fuyao!)

I tried two different 911s with fuyao glass and they didn’t seal at the corners, using Porsche Genuine -04 gasket. The fuyao is 12mm narrower left-to-right. Height is ok. Beware!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1727486728.jpg

Our hosts website needs some service work. Why is it from the point of login, to researching a part, to checking previous orders is so had and laborious?

Gillies 10-01-2024 02:27 PM

I ordered one from Rock Auto. Unfortunately its the old one version. Very same label as Mark Salvetti but does not have the extra 3mm.

UROParts 10-01-2024 02:45 PM

^ The latest production run of this seal has batch code 11104, so it should definitely have the extra width. It's not easy to measure rubber seals, and hard to be consistent unless a single person is measuring several seals in a row using the same method.

Was the bag heat-sealed when you received it, and is the rubber clean and pliable? Or does it look like someone pulled a switcharoo with an old seal and RA's return department didn't catch it?

Wasatch 911S 10-01-2024 04:59 PM

I received the correct updated seal from RA in a sealed bag last week. Not sure why they would send an old one, unless as mentioned it was a return.

The bag was sealed with the correct label. You tell me...even looks different on the inside than the one URO posted.

Thanks for posting this. I bought mine to grab one while it was still in stock, even though I wasn't planning to use it until next year.

But your post prompted me to open mine and measure. Bag was sealed.

Looks like I got an old seal as well. Not wide enough, and it is missing that double line molded into the lip that is visible in the Uro photo above.

(It's late, and I can't find my ruler that starts at zero. Need to add 2mm to that measurement, brings it up to Gilles' dimension.)

Did anyone that received an old seal in a correctly marked bag buy it from Summit Racing?
Mine is at the painters and the glass guy may have already installed it. Got me worried!
Thanks,

WMichelsen 10-02-2024 07:28 AM

I guess we are just looking for verification from URO.

I got mine from Summit (before Pelican site updated). I cut the bag just enough to access the seal by the label.

These seals seem all the same from several vendors, so very unlikely to be rebagged returns. These appear to be valid lot#11104 seals. Is this measurement what is to be expected?

UROParts 10-02-2024 08:09 AM

Thanks for the info guys, we're investigating.

Mark Salvetti 10-02-2024 10:00 AM

Besides the dimension measurement, the fact that our seals are missing that groove on the inside of the lip of the Uro photo is concerning. You would think that is a permanent feature of the new mold, so I don't understand why it would be missing from our versions if we have the correct new seal.

Mark
