Still No Spark!

An update from my lats post. I am still not
getting any spark from the coil. I removed my
crane xr700 ignition and reinstalled the
points and condensor. Ran the following checks: tested voltage with key in on position at relay board and then at positive
post on coil. I was getting 12volts in both spots. Unhooked wire from positive post
on coil it sparked when it touched on fan housing. Still no spark with everything hooked up. I haver tried both my brand new and old coil which worked when I parked car 2 weeks ago to do brake and susp work. The car was running when I parked now it won't start.
Any suggestions or additonal diagnostic tests?

Test the resistance of the wires. It is rare but I had a friends GT Escort that had the same problem. After many hours of searching we found that it was a coil wire that had been eaten by battery acid. It looked fine but was broken internally. You can use one of the other plug wires as a test coil wire.

Other thing is to go backwards and as others sugessted see that the battery has both enough voltage AND amps to make spark.

I might add that I replaced the battery.
But I will check the wires back from the
coil to the relay board.
Thanks

Check to make sure that the points open and close, and that the points wire alternates between no connection and ground when they open and close.

Hummmm, how about the condenser, the little ground strap inside the distributor, as DD said, make sure the points are opening and closing (verify by watching when you brank the engine). Is there a spark if you pull the secondary wire from the center of the distributor? What is your rotor resistance? What does the inside of the distributor cap look like? Is it clean and the center button free? What is the resistance of the secondary wires? Any open? Good luck.

I just tried the following. According to
some tests I found on some old postings
on this site. I disconnects the points wire and ran a wire from - terminal on the coil. Left the + wire on the coil, disconnected the
coil to dist wire from the dist. I held the coil to dist wire 1/8" form the ground. And touched the wire formt the neg to a ground. Got a spark from the neg wire only. I then plugged in the points wire then opened and closed the points with a screwdriver. Points sparked but still no spark from main coil
wire. Both were tested with brand new unused coil.
Thanks for the help everyone!
