944 S2 Transaxle Part Number

Gents,

I have an '89 944 S2 and the transaxle is one without the limited slip. According to my service manual, the code for the trans without the limited slip for this car is "Type 083F Code AOS". The code for the transaxle with the LS is "Type 083F Code AOT".

I want to put a LS in my car. Who makes this transaxls (Porsche, Getrag, ZF)? Where on the transaxle can I find the part number of the original manufacturer? Does anyone know this part number for the LS transaxle?

Thanks in advance,

Kev

951.332.053.05 is the factory part number

Porsche transmissions are made by ZF.

Pelican sells an aftermarket LSD as well.

Gents,

After quite a bit of research, the manual transmission on the 944s is made by VW/Audi, not ZF. ZF made the diff and supplied it to VW. ZF made the auto trans for the 944 but not the manual.

The trans is assembled by VW/Audi, the gears and other parts are made by outside suppliers, including ZF.
